Bancroft got 2 tests, then cut.
Uzi got 3 tests, then cut.
Wade on shakey ground.
Harris has to be on shakey ground now.
I'm sure Warner isn't, but probably should be.

Marsh is the only bat not to get a run now. So he has to be the next in, but can't see him opening.

Maybe Wade opens?!? Does in ODI, but like Roy, could be a disaster. Otherwise it's back to Bangers or Uzi.

How much better is bowler friendly Test matches.

The absolute roads that India prepare for their batsmen makes for boring Test cricket.

It's great seeing batsmen have to work to get runs but get rewarded for their efforts.

Oh, yawn. England whinging about the ball every time that the Aussies look like making runs is getting dull.

And now it's going to rain.

It can be as boring as it wants as long as we score runs and England don't

1st 3 tests were too bowler friendly. Weather played it's part though.

There was enough in that pitch for the bowlers in the 1st session. But it's gonna flatten out big time if the rain stays away. So not enough in this pitch.

Labu and Smith looking good.

There's enough there for the bowlers. These 2 are batting very well.

Labulicious.

Warner might as well pack up and go home for all the good he has done.

Calling it early. Australia already in a winning position. Only weather will prevent us retaining the Ashes this test.

Harris a tad unlucky with his decision. I thought he was batting really well too. Warner just looks absolutely cooked against Broad (and Archer from around the wicket too).

No other options other than Khawaja at the top though having left Burns out. If we pump out over 300 from here though we finally have the top bowling attack so even a rain effected test could see a win for us imo.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen better bowling to him before. Broad is absolutely all over him. At this point he may as well just come in absolutely all guns blazing in the second dig because it can’t go any worse than how he’s tried to combat being tucked up so far.

Labu and Smith to the rescue. Labu so orthodox in technique and Smith is so Smith. But it works.

Pretty much what Ponting said on air last night. He just has to try to forget about it, and go back to his game. He is stuck between leave and hit. He is a hit the ball player, so hit the ball.

Tough comment to make in a bowler friendly series, but are we worried about Labu's conversion rate? 4x 50s on the trot, but no 100s.

Maybe if those around him were doing more but are you really going to knock back 50s when your openers are doing blot? I'll take the lack of conversion 50s instead of the lack of start single figures.

Not sure about that. Smith was much more technically correct when he 1st came into international cricket. There was a base before he overhaulled it. Same with Chanderpaul, Bailey, etc

News article says 2 Aussies fans were ejected from the stadium.
It says:
"It’s alleged the duo shouted “show us your passport” and repeatedly chanted “Barbados” towards Archer."

Not exactly racist.

"Foul and abusive behaviour" was the reason for the ejection so had to be more than giving Archer a bit of stick for being a ring in.

Probably gave to coppers a spray for telling them to calm down over those sledges - ie, tanked too

Well deserved 100 by Steve Smith.

TW, I don't agree that technique should not be taught. It just happens that sometimes players have such a great eye and results count for everything.

There are more players who fail due to poor technique (Bancroft et al) than become a Steve Smith.

Wade’s wicket ... so stupidly unnecessary. You’re batting alongside Steve Smith, just bat sensibly and you’ll be fine!

It's a slow pitch, but the calls of flat have been wrong. Every over a couple of balls nibble off the seam. That's enough.

If Archer would actually arch his back into it he might even coax a wicket out of it.
