Good result for us, despite how much i hate the Broncos and the NRL bias to have them play in the finals.
Klein again, how is he allowed to referee first grade?

Re: 2019 NRL Round 24 - Teams and Game Day
The refereeing is so inconsistent.
For that last break, Fifita ran behind Segayaro, after Parra had been penalised for the exact same thing earlier in the game. A fair try to Parra denied when a pass was incorrectly called forward, despite dozens of forward passes being let go during the game. Boyd grabbed hold of Gutherson who was trying to pressure the field goal kick.
It really takes the enjoyment out of it.

Re: 2019 NRL Round 24 - Teams and Game Day
I'm with you Dr Zaius. The NRL and its incompetence has sucked a lot of enjoyment out of the game for me. I get so disappointed because like you and everyone else here, we know how good the game can be!
Sadly it's getting further and further away from the game I used to watch every chance I could regardless of who was playing.
Still, I'm here every week with intense emotional investment into the raiders, just hoping that we will start a new revolution into how the game will be played, just like we did in the late 80s.
There's always hope. Sometimes it's really small, and i think it's painted green.... but it's there.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

I thought the refs were very consistent (in regard to favouring the Broncos)Dr Zaius wrote: ↑August 30, 2019, 10:14 pm The refereeing is so inconsistent.

Knights bounce back from Brown exit to thrash Titans
Newcastle emerged from a bleak week on a grey day to thump Gold Coast 38-4 at Hunter Stadium on Saturday, keeping their faint finals hopes alive for at least another 24 hours.

4th min TRY STORM to Josh Addo Carr. Big run from Nelson Asofa Solomona to set up the play in the lead up. Cameron Smith converts.

10th min Tom Trbojevic off the field with what might be a shoulder injury. Straight up the tunnel to the sheds.

If it makes you feel better the alternative would be 'carn Manly'

Storm in again. Great pass by Smith but even better gap running from Olam.

I can just summon a cheer the Storm. Not so the Broncos. Been cheering against them the last two weeks despite it being in our interests that they win
Re: 2019 NRL Round 24 - Teams and Game Day
Both Trbojevic's seem like quality people. They have no business playing for that club.gangrenous wrote:That’s a shame for Turbo and the NRL finals generally.

What a tackle from Jorge Taufua on Munster! Storm are all over them though. Hope this continues!

30th min TRY STORM to Nelson Asofa Solomona. The Storm have had forced five line drop outs. Perfect tactics against the off side play of the Sea Eagles. Cameron Smith converts. Trbojevic has a serious pectoral injury. Cameron Smith converts.

Wouldn't want to be in Vunivalu's shoes heading to the sheds.

37th min TRY SEA EAGLES to Taniela Paseka, off a Cherry Evans pass. It is off the back of a loose pass from the Storm in the red zone, intercepted. Converted.

So, if storm can hold on for the win - paying 1.08 - it's probably safe to say we will make the four. Unless we have a complete clustermuck against Warriors if we happen to lose tomorrow.

55th min TRY STORM to Justin Olam. This is RIDICULOUS! Josh Addo Carr sliding on his knees across the touch line, chasing a kick, throws the ball back inside, rebounds off the feet of the Sea Eagles player and Olam just plants it in the in goal. That crowd is SILENT. No conversion from Cameron Smith from out wide.
