Hardly, Tim, they even have NZ in their name! I'd much rather claim "six months in a leaky boat" if I were to flog a song from this band. Crowded House are a different kettle of fish..

Im thinking about buying an EA Falcon, installing a big cab radio strip antenna on the front and a Strayla Sticker with the southern cross on the back to tour The country with. this sound track will be pumping. Might even grow myself a mullet and purchase a few blue singlets for the trip.

I'd go with "Message to My Girl" if I had to steal a Split Enz song. But the other 2 are cracking songs too.
But it makes sense their best came as an Aussie band .. Crowded House

How good is Daryl Braitwaite's voice? Must be one of our greatest ever vocalists.

James Reyne is also one of the great vocalists in Australian music history... Love listening to these old songs. They are better than virtually anything going around these days.

These guys are barely Australian but-
Split Enz- I got you.
I got you, that's all I want
I won't forget, that's a whole lot
I don't go out, now that you're in
Sometimes we shout, but that's no problem
Chorus-
I don't know why sometimes I get frightened
You can see my eyes you can tell I'm not lyin
Look at you, you're a pageant
You're everything, that I imagine
Something's wrong, I feel uneasy
You show me, tell me you're not teasin
Repeat Chorus
There's no doubt, not when I'm with you
When I'm without, I stay in my room
Where do you go, I get no answer
You're always out, it gets on my nerves
Repeat Chorus> Repeat Chorus> Repeat Chorus> Fade out...
Awesome stuff.

Their MTV unplugged performance was outstanding. The Dead Heart was the highlight - I reckon it is still on Youtube.

That too. Mrs Fui was giving me grief the other day for the same thing!
Side note: I saw Never tear us apart, and it reminded me of Ugly Phil on Triple M a while back. He was doing some awkward bantering with some caller, and asks the caller if he wants to listen to some INXS. The caller responded “Oh yeah, I love INXS. Most underrated rock band in Australia.” Ugly Phil went to town, saying that was nonsense, and one of the dumbest calls he ever heard.
Had to agree, underrated bands don’t sel out Wembley

I’m with Mrs Fui, given he says “To her door” 27,000 times in the song!

I’m sure he makes a reference to being “At her door” as well!
**Edit** Checked the lyrics, and he doesn’t say it at all. I might have misheard “Out the door”.
