Quite conceivable the Eels could be in the top 4 after this weekend.

Eels would have to win by at least over 42 points, have Manly beat Raiders and Brisbane beat Souths for that to happenNorthern Raider wrote:Quite conceivable the Eels could be in the top 4 after this weekend.

If they win tonight they only need Raiders and Broncos to win and they're 4th.

Think the Brown incident should have been a send off, and the Remy incident was a fair sin bin.

How many penalty tries would have been awarded against Slater with this rule?

How the **** can you call held when the player is already in momentum going over the sideline and then penalise them

Yeah that call was a joke. Called held a millisecond before he was bundled over the sideline.

Re: 2019 NRL Round 23 - Teams and Game Day
You don’t need to support the Broncos. If we win against Manly now, it all but assures us of a Top 4 spot, as we will be 4 points clear of Manly and Parra with a superior F/A, with 2 games left.
Re: 2019 NRL Round 23 - Teams and Game Day
Brown is a grub and has always had that temper. He is the Tigers player from years ago that lost the plot in a dust up with the Raiders, 20s I think. Got his **** handed to him and then wanted to fight the whole team.Makaveli wrote:Game is over throw some punches you can't get binned

Re: 2019 NRL Round 23 - Teams and Game Day
Brown managed to contain himself for about 3 seasons, up until tonight and he just exploded.
Great atmosphere at BankWest!
A lot of Billy Slater’s would’ve been 8 point try’s today. The sliding knees he did were pathetic.

Re: 2019 NRL Round 23 - Teams and Game Day
When you consider some of the recent charges against players for late hits you would think Brown cops much worse. His was later and a shoulder charge.

Lewis seems to be a favourite with Channel 9. Don't know how he got man of the match?

He looked quite strong out there defensively, especially against bigger bodies and put in some nice kicks.
Don’t think anyone really stood out, so I can how he landed MOTM. Jackson probably wasn’t far off. Kerrod Holland actually had a good game, I never thought I’d be saying that.
What Brown did really ticked a lot of the boxes that the NRL are clamping down on.
Late hits on smaller blokes and unnecessary aggression, resulting in dangerous contact. I could see him getting a decent ban.

Geez I'm glad we scrapped that 2pt win over the Dogs in Sydney a while back.
They're destroying other teams finals aspirations one week at a time..

I've been waiting for Parra to lose over the past few weeks, they don't look convincing to me. They have had some favourable treatment from referees over the past 2 months and that didn't happen last night.

Tbf Mitch Barnett was punching him while he was being held by someone else. That would fire most blokes up imo.gergreg wrote: ↑August 22, 2019, 9:53 pmBrown is a grub and has always had that temper. He is the Tigers player from years ago that lost the plot in a dust up with the Raiders, 20s I think. Got his **** handed to him and then wanted to fight the whole team.Makaveli wrote:Game is over throw some punches you can't get binned

Ch9 crew have always struggled to look past the spine when giving out MOTM. It's a case of find the best spine player from the winning team. At least 4 dogs players had far better games than Lewis. Hoppa was the standout for me.

It's their edge defense that is the problem. We also run the up and in but they just suicide it and their cover defense was lazy.
