Good work Matt!

BTW... The GH was started in 2005, after outrage over... you guessed it... the moderation! The moderation at League Unlimited. It led to a breakaway forum just for Raiders fans, established by Nick/Pigman and Roger Kenworthy. Click here to see the first members of the site: memberlist.php So I didn't start the forum... I did come up with the name though!

Two forums were established... one by Nick and the other by Roger. Inside the first week, they were combined, using the forum set up by Nick. There was a competition to name the site. My suggestion won.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Extended Bench
Lindsay Collins 18. Sam Williams
Drew Hutchinson 19. Joseph Leilua
Matt Ikuvalu 20. Emre Guler
Lachlan Lam 21. Micheal Oldfield

#- Skins altered to pair like skins.
(Bolded players are the winners of the skin. The extended bench is excluded.)

Match-ups:

Fullbacks:
Charnze Nicholl-Klokstad is having a great season and, if it were an award, he'd likely snare the NRL "Buy of the Year" title for 2019. His opponent is the best fullback in the world, and probably a top three player in the world, James Tedesco. Tedesco, along with plenty of his team mates, tore the Titans to shreds on the weekend. To be fair, that’s not tough. But Tedesco's record of 12 tries, eight assists, an average 199m, seven tackle busts and one line break a game speaks volumes.

Wingers:
Daniel Tupou is having a very good season, with 10 tries, four assists and an average of 170m a game. Bailey Simonsson, in his rookie year, isn’t far behind with seven tries and an average 133 metres gained.

I’ve said it a couple of times now, but Jordan Rapana is starting to look like his old self. Against the Warriors, Rapana didn’t have a lot of involvement, as it wasn’t required. But he is starting to beat the first tackler, and poke his nose through the line again. Brett Morris just bagged a hat trick in 21 minutes, and while he now has one more try, he averages fewer metres and tackle busts.

Centres:
Jarrod Croker celebrates NRL game 250, which is a massive milestone. Latrell Mitchell is the NRL's leading point scorer and has nearly 50 points more than Croker, in second place. Mitchell also has 14 tries, making him equal second on the try scorers list.

Nick Cotric replaces Michael Oldfield in the team, with Cotric completing his three game suspension for a dangerous throw on Tim Lafai. Joseph Manu gets a suspension skin.

Halves:
Since returning from a long layoff due to concussion issues, Luke Keary has barely missed a beat. He has 17 try assists for the season, equal second in the competition with Damien Cook. He has only three less try assists than Mitch Moses, even though he has four fewer games. Jack Wighton has had a great season and bagged a try on the weekend. They are two very different five-eighths. Both are a big reason their team sit equal on 28 competition points. I’m not splitting them, so let's see who gets their respective team home this weekend.

Aidan Sezer has been in sublime touch since returning to the Raiders' side. Last Friday night, he pushed his try assists to five in his ten appearances, with a grubber to set up Michael Oldfield's try. His kicking game has been a real feature in recent weeks as well, adding a 40/20 against the Warriors. Cooper Cronk is still the general at the Roosters, however, his influence is more in game management these days. His role is really to mentor and provide for his halves partner and his fullback. He crossed for NRL try number 100 last weekend.

Prop:
Josh Papalii has more tries, averages more metres, and averages only three fewer tackles than Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. Papalii is now one of the premier props in the league - and gets the skin.

Sia Soliola has been a man on a mission in recent weeks. He turned back the clock against the Warriors, leaving Roger Tuivasa-Sheck in his wake for a try. He showed the turn of pace of an 18 year old centre, mixed with the early dive for the line of an experienced campaigner. This is about the only difference between Soliola and Isaac Liu - with both having near identical statistical output in 2019.

Dunamis Lui has been very good in recent weeks, and mirrors the form of the Raiders. He takes the skin over Poasa Faamausili, who is a promising player, but playing a bit part.

Corey Horsburgh and Zane Tetevano have near identical statistics in 2019. However, last week Horsburgh played a key part in two tries last week. In the first of Simonsson's two tries, his well-executed fast play the ball allowed Josh Hodgson to initially scoot down the short side and split the defenders. In the lead up to Joe Tapine's try, Horsburgh produced a great offload - one of a number of great passes in the movement.

Hooker/utility:
Josh Hodgson is the form hooker of the competition. And yes, I’d argue he's in better form than Cameron Smith right now. Sam Verrills looks a capable youngster, but has a long way to go.

Siliva Havili hasn’t been playing enough minutes in recent weeks to provide a form line. Nat Butcher has been switching between playing on the edge and playing the bench lock role in 2019. He is averaging 99m and 31 tackles a game from the bench. Add to that three tries and two assists, it’s an easy skin.

Backrow:
John Bateman was the best player on the ground against Panthers a fortnight ago. His efforts against the Warriors were just as good, even though he was not as noticeable, with so many others excelling. Boyd Cordner has been out injured recent weeks - so Angus Crichton, who has been playing a bit of lock in recent weeks, has been selected to fill his No. 11 jumper. He is a great hole runner, has improved his defensive workrate, and played Origin this year - but he isn’t John Bateman.

Elliott Whitehead has been a defensive fiend in recent weeks. He has tackled everything that moved. He has been a typical tough-nut, English forward. He also has better statistics than Mitch Aubusson in 2019 - even in the Roosters' recent victories, he has done very little.

In the past month, Joe Tapine has really been building up to something - and we saw it against the Warriors. He had his best game of the year. He was just everywhere - including being the Johnny on the spot for Oldfield’s flick pass, for one of the Raiders' best tries of the year. Victor Radley had an absolute blinder against the Titans, and in my opinion could easily have won man of the match. With the selection of Verrils to replace Jake Friend in the past fortnight, he has returned to lock, which has allowed him to play a much freer game. This is a tough skin, and possibly harsh on Radley, but this skin is decided by a four game to two form line in the position.

Ryan Sutton returns from a calf injury, giving Sitili Tupouniua an injury skin. He has provided great impact off the bench this year, and his hair rates amongst the best in the NRL.

Result
The tally is Roosters six and Raiders 10 plus a draw. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m surprised by the skin count, but at the same time I think they are correct. The forecast is for a very cold and possibly wet Sunday afternoon, which is perfect English and Raiders weather. The Raiders have the second best defence and the third best offence going into this week, and they are really building to something.

Result: Raiders to prove their premiership credentials (by 6-12).

I couldn't give the skin to Aidan Sezer over Cooper Cronk!

No one could.

No one but Matt.

That’s why he’s dearly loved
