The Professor's Late Hit
I am surprised no one has mentioned this yet,but Josh Hodgson and John Bateman were on last night's show. Some funny stuff there, especially Aussie John's reaction to the animals

Re: The Professor's Late Hit
It is The Footy Show all over again. The Matty Johns Show is going further and further down that rabbit hole too. Very outdated television.
Have not watched "The Professor" for a long time. Even Nine's coverage with Sam Thaiday is preferable. But did watch this episode due to Hodgson and Bateman being on. I admit I had a laugh or two.
Hodgo looked pretty unhappy when Hindmarsh described Super League as **** and England as a ****. Bateman not too impressed either and I don't blame them.
Both shows on my no watch list... especially after the recent episodes of Matty Johns featuring corporal punishment (that was supposed to be funny) and Fletcher getting a tatoo (for a bet... he really did this for a single segment of a TV show... seriously!).

Re: The Professor's Late Hit
I watch the Prefessor once, and it watched it all the way through and i thought id go to my grave thinking it was the worst comedy show i'd ever seen
Then i watched an entire Ep of Kinne Tonight.
Just a blood bath in terms of worst comedy show ever.

That was quite an exhilarating feeling when i got through the WHOLE DAMN thing, inebriated, and did not crack ONE smile
The dude threw an 0-fer!
Amazing. I woke my wife up to tell her about it... She was furious, it had already been shunted to the death hour...i wasnt listening but i assume she was angry about how bad the show was.

So I sat through that whole **** show..

Honestly though, watch Comedy Company and Full Frontal again... they really haven't aged well. Any of Micallef's work in general and the Late Show are still "champagne comedy" but if those other shows were around today you'd be throwing them in the same bin IMO.Sid wrote: ↑July 9, 2019, 9:57 amyou're rightFuifui Bradbrad wrote: ↑July 7, 2019, 8:59 pm Kinne is the worst. The Professor's Late Hit
I haven’t seen any lately, but I wouldn’t be surprised. Those kind of sketch shows are generational, linked to what was going on at that point in time. It’s why these shows fail when they try and reboot them, just look at Let Loose Live, gone after 2 eps.The Rickman wrote:Haha check out some Comedy Company... it's **** awful.Sid wrote: ↑July 9, 2019, 10:46 amcould well be right, haven't seen those 2 in ages. So it would have to take something special for a pure sketch show to last the test of time. I just don’t get why we can’t get it right.
Side note: It’s part of the reason the cast of Friends don’t want to do a reboot. Because 40 year olds hanging out at coffee shops is sad.

Some of the gags went for longer than those family guy Peter holding his knee gags, like the "if coffees were named after the wankers that order them" skit..
Then he was like well that's it for this week..
