It's a shame for you guys but for my mate in Darwin and the rest of us scattered through Moresby and SE Asia for various reasons Darwin is a rare game we can get to without an 8 hour flight! We're flying in from all over.

I was at work during the game listening through ABC Granstand.

Johnny Gibbs kept calling..Josh Bateman !!!

His co-commentators didn't even correct him..all night this went on !
John Gibbs was really anti Raiders all night. He had a real bee in his bonnet about everything we did.

Fair point. Hope the fans up North have as great a time as we did last night Image

How good would a home semi in a stadium like that be? The Viking Clap would be epic!

Should have listened to the MIX 106 FM coverage instead. I hear they're okay.

My throat hurts this morning. Good thing I came prepared for this one and brought Strepsils.

Oh and I'm extra tired because I, uh, stayed up to watch the replay on Fox in my room.

This is a good feeling. Or it would be a better one if I wasn't about to spend six hours in an ice rink, but y'know...

Phil Gould's 'dangerous' warning for title-contending Canberra Raiders

During the post-game show Friday Night Knockoff, Phil Gould effectively called this Raiders squad one of the best in decades.

"The Raiders were absolutely grinding the Tigers into the turf. I think the most dangerous thing about the Raiders now is that they know they're a good team," Gould said. "They've never looked professional before. They're talented, but they looked professional tonight."

The competition's new entertainers

Tigers v Raiders: We have the new entertainers of the NRL. Great stuff from Ricky Stuart’s team. And what about the stats now on Canberra keeping sides scoreless this year. It is quite an achievement in modern-era rugby league

NRL.com power rankings: Sharks and Knights in top four

5. Canberra Raiders (7)
Third defensive shutout this year and have shown a real willingness to turn up for each other. Really panicking other teams when they attack and other sides are getting frustrated and making mistakes and the Raiders make them pay. Seem to be the real deal.

The players hung around to be with the fans for like 30 minutes after the game. Soli got the Viking Clap going, CNK took about a zillion selfies with the punters and the other lads mingled with the punters having a great time. It really was frikken awesome to see.

I'm not sure how many Raiders fans there were at the game, but it seemed like almost half the crowd. The noise and atmosphere that was generated in that stadium by the green brigade was bloody impressive.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.
