Same team, as long as they think of a few plays for the right edge during the week.

Another reason to keep Kris in the 17 is that there is a chance for Nic Cotric to be selected for Origin. We will need another outside back if that happens and Seb Kris will find even cameo appearances in FG of value. Similar to how the young forwards were blooded earlier this year I think it is a prudent move by Sticky to give him some FG experience.

If Tapine comes in, Young goes to the bench and Kris drops out.

I hope Green leaves Baptiste on the bench for the majority of the game and persists with Granville. They look a far better side with Granville riding the pine. Contain Lolo and we win, its really that simple. Morgan is horribly out of form, Scott had a better game last night but they're very one dimensional.

Would be awesome if Tapine is back next week - anyone know his status? If fit, I'd imagine his first game back to be off the bench. Hudson Young was enormous last night, he went a long way to becoming a permanent fixture in our 17 for as long as he is at our club. He has certainly leapfrogged the likes of Guler, Murchie and even Horsburgh. I didn't know much about him going into this season but credit where due to our recruitment team.

Exact same team unless we have some players coming back:
Kris drops our for Tapine.
Simonsson out for Rapana.

I was just wondering if Ricky was now doing the same for his best young backs as he did for the forwards. Given the injury toll and yes, factoring in Cotric as an origin smoky (what 50/50 at best? Though Freddy seems a fan) you could be onto something.

Canberra Raiders rookie Sebastian Kris redefines toothless

Sebastian Kris waited on the bench for 75 minutes before Raiders coach Ricky Stuart gave him the nod for what Kris laughs was a nice introduction to first grade - he came off missing half of one of his front teeth.

"I just pulled my mouthguard out and there it was, just sitting there, so I put it back in to make sure I didn't lose it," Kris said.

Canberra Raiders brace for weight of expectation

It may sound bizarre, but the coming fortnight may be the Raiders' toughest test as they become acquainted with the weight of expectation.

"We've given ourselves every chance. Hopefully towards the back end of the year we work more on that and take those little opportunities, because you don't get many against the good sides and you've got to take them when you can," Jarrod Croker said.

Canberra Raiders closer than past fortnight suggests

It was Canberra's second close loss in two weeks, but don’t try and compare this current iteration of the side to the one that made narrow defeats an art form last season.

"We've given ourselves opportunities to be in the fight and they're two of the best sides in the comp at the moment," Jarrod Croker said of the past fortnight.

It would have been nice to win the last 2 games but this is a must win. If we play with the same intensity as the last 2 weeks there’s no reason we don’t win.

Yup, spot on. Gotta go out there and play like we did the last two weeks and we win comfortably.

Saying that, if the team gets too cocky and takes their foot off the pedal, then we're in danger of seeing another Manly game.

The thing that worries me is the belief they've played well against the two best teams in the comp, now they think it will be a piece of piss against the Cowboys.

Complacency is the danger here, they need to go about every game this season like they have to date, with the exception of the Manly game.

I don't disagree with this, however we should've put them to the sword at 12-nil up and with a shot at goal just before halftime.

Instead we completely lost our **** and reverted to 2017/18 form.

I'd be more worried about the let down after being up for 2 big teams and then losing. Could easily see us having a flat week after we put so much into those 2 games.

Sure. You have to turn up with intensity each week or you lose in the NRL. You could tell they were "up" for the last two games. 3 years ago the "young Raiders" might have clocked off unintentionally vs teams they were supposed to beat. I don't get that vibe this year. Team is much more experienced and a more professional vibe about it.

Let Hors rip into Lolo, get bounced on his ass the first time and then watch him come back try to do it harder- should be fun! Lui or Sutton flying hard in at the legs and Papa + the other up high and we might contain Lolo enough.

Look, I'm a big fan of Hudson Young. But if Tapine is back this week, he starts and Young plays off the bench imo. He's a starting player in our team unless there's a significant drop in form.

Hudson Young says Canberra Raiders rookies belong in the NRL

Call it "total disrespect" if you want, but Canberra Raiders rookie Hudson Young is refusing to take a backwards step against the NRL's most imposing forwards.

"It was a little bit weird, I've still got photos of [Burgess] on my Instagram page," Young said. "It's good for us younger boys to get the opportunity to stand up without [John Bateman and Joe Tapine] blokes on the field, but they're still in and around the club, helping us younger boys out.
