Milford turns on the Magic as Brisbane Broncos beat Manly Sea Eagles

The Brisbane Broncos have ridden the back of an Anthony Milford masterclass to silence their critics with a 26-10 win over Manly at Suncorp Stadium on Friday.

I don't understand why everyone is so surprised the Broncos suck this year. Of their cap, 1m goes to Milford, 800K to Boyd and 800K to Bird. Not sure what Gillet is on, but he wouldn't be far off. That's a huge amount of money spent on 4 players who are incredibly inconsistent.

Fair point, if people thought their cap isn’t a sizeable amount larger.

There used to be a bloke around these parts called Rod. He lost interest when McCrone moved on. Some say his head exploded.

His story should be told as a warning to alphabet.

The perils of being consumed with hatred for one player. Turned an interesting contributor into a dull one post pony.

Rod? Nah he was alright. Not the first or last to get annoyed with the NRL and walk away.

I thought he got sick of the Raiders, turned his back on the club and sold all his gear. Coward.

That is a stupid decision.

Can you be penalised for obstructing in the defensive line when you stood still 5m behind the ruck?

That was a horrible miss on the Pearce knock-on, I’d be livid if that was against the Raiders.

Newcastle Knights hold off gritty Canterbury Bulldogs to win third straight

Newcastle have made it three on the trot for the first time in two years, holding off a late-surging Canterbury side to record a 22-10 victory at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Wouldn’t that be classed as a pass rather than a knock on if the Warrior caught it on the full ? I didn’t think the bunker could rule on forward passes

Awful stuff from the Dragons. McGregor doesn't make an interchange (or maybe just 1) until about the 50th minute and wonders why their second halves are dreadful. Dufty should be dropped for next week. That try to Fusitua he had the chance to keep him out wide for the conversion to tie up the score and he just switched off allowing Fusitua to bring it in a further 10 metres. Dumb play.

Reminds me of the Titans. Play really well to hit the lead then just drift away from the tactics that are working for them.

New Zealand Warriors welcome Nikorima with comeback win over St George Illawarra Dragons

Kodi Nikorima has returned to the Suncorp Stadium turf he called home just a week ago, burying a Warriors four-game losing streak beneath the old graveyard with a come-from-behind 26-18 defeat of the Dragons.

90% whinging about ref decisions and he's right only 50% of the time. Whinging about Parra receiving penalties? How about when Ado-Carr is bringing the ball back from a kick and the Eels second rower (?) hits him with a copybook tackle and gets penalised - for a shoulder charge I think?

Fergo has been playing well this year and last but gee he has some errors in his game.

Guess this is what happens when Craig Bellamy says if the current players don't put in and perform, he'll find some who can.
