How good was Blocker's commentary on Dugan last night.
So glad he's no longer at our club.

Sandor Earl's 2056-day wait is over
Friday night will mark the final chapter of one of the most improbable comeback stories in rugby league history, when former Canberra Raiders winger Sandor Earl is expected to become the first NRL player to return from a four-year ban.
The Storm haven't officially announced their 17-man squad, however the 29-year-old travelled with the team to Townsville on Wednesday and on Friday night is set to play his 49th game in the NRL.

'I'm a sucker for it': Carney falls back in love with country footy
"I've never forgotten ... it's tough footy".
Justin Carney's much-hyped return to Group 11 has been a long-time coming but the human wrecking ball that spent a decade running straight over some of the toughest players in the world says doing the same to his bush footy brethren is still as tough as it was in the mid-2000s.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Joel Thompson is a solid 1st grader. Why is he unwanted at NRL Clubs? Or does he just like the travel?greeneyed wrote: ↑April 30, 2019, 6:37 pm Former Canberra Raiders forward Joel Thompson set to head to Leeds

Not surprising. Surprising Wigan didn’t act first though.
Re: Ex Raiders... where are they now?
Furner's been terrible.
I wish Leeds had kept him for a while longer.

It should be Leeds parts ways with David Furner...in other words he was sacked.Sid wrote:David Furner parts ways with Leeds Rhinoceroses
Poor Furnsey, it’s not the Raiders where we waited 5 years and your brother was the CEO!
Probably better as an assistant coach. Head Coach ain’t his thing.

Sad news that Furner has been sacked again, genuinely nice guy. Silver lining: At least it wasn't his brother that tapped him on the shoulder this time.

Re: Ex Raiders... where are they now?
That’s 2 failed head coaching gigs. Doubt he’ll get another chance at the top level. Looks like a career assistant coach, which he actually has a very good record as.

Blake Austin at top of the Man of Steel rankings for Super League. Everyone predicted he would do well, happy for him.
The club definitely made the right choice though, given the style of play we are going with this year.

According to the DT (*cough*) he was brought in to kick-start roster changes and then when he tried to do it management wouldn't let him.

Timbo you evil person.
Sad to hear about Dave, but in all honesty needs a stint coaching reggies. His time at the Raiders was putrid and had NFI.

You can guarantee that as soon as they cop a bit of negative press or questions over their form, we will read about their great work with the community, struggling kids or endangered porcupines.
Just a coincidence that the various media types reporting these great things have close managerial connections to the players.
