It's better than being 16th after six rounds.

Penalty Broncos.
I actually agree with Bennett's comments but I'm not sure Bellamy would also voice the same complaints given their decade of dominance is based on winning the ruck with wrestling. He is experienced enough to save those comments for leading into the finals. The Roosters and the Storm are the two best sides because they can defend their line. Slow the ruck down and reset. Give away a penalty or 4 on their tryline, no worries, they can defend it. Bennett is as much having a go at them as he is the referees.

I understand what you are saying with the #penaltybroncos but if and I know it's a big if, it's adjudicated evenly and the ruck is sped up - then that arguably favours us more than the Broncos.

I just fear it will not be refereed evenly, due to unrecognised bias... which will almost certainly favour Brisbane.
Not a ball kicked in anger and you’re already complaining about officiating!
What hope do they have to meet expectations when you go in with this level of bias going in?!!

Cowboys are leading Warriors at H/T 8 - 4. A total bludger of a game. How these two coaches still have jobs in the NRL is beyond me.

Greggo, all games have been a bludger of a game, thanks to the refs putting the whistle away.

It's boring as hell.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

That implies the man has integrity or something of a decent character.

This person has neither.

This is hilarious! The referees check for an obvious no try... correctly the bunker got the trip. But the referees had to call the trip on their own. And then the Dragons miss the penalty goal to level it!

I swear you wouldn't feed the touchies they are literally right on the line and refuse to make a call and the calls they do make such as forward passes are usually wrong

This is what letting the game flow, keeping the whistles in the pocket, means. Non decisions in the final five minutes seem to be de rigueur.

You could cop that call if they didnt go to the video ref up the other end 5 minutes earlier on a no try situation just to review a penalty because a EDIT stayed down

It's not the first time this year they have gone to the bunker in a 'non try scoring' situation. And definitely a penalty at the end there. The saints player wasn't even looking at the ball.

I thought it was a better game than the earlier one but there was some really soft penalties and that ending was pretty ordinary.

**** like that happens every game. While I don't agree with it, I'm at least happy in this situation in that it is more often than not let go.

In a 10 minute stretch:
- 1m forward pass by the dragons
- Kick on the 3rd to no one from Elgey, luckily forced a dropout
- Pass a metre over the wingers head from Elgey, dropped by Garrick
- Dropped pass off scrum base by Lafai
- Dropped grubber that pinballed off about 3 sets of legs

Then the commentators at the end said it was a classic... Huh?

Was only listening on radio so just got to see a replay of that final play. Such an obvious and deliberate block on the kick chase. Completely gutless by the officials to let it go.
