Depending on injuries.
Bateman's just a straight up better defender than Tapine so he's guarding Williams.
We've had both halves play well behind a more dominant pack but Sezer is probably out for 1 more week.
The cows have a big pack so Sutton in to start. Really found his front and defended well against Newcastle. Lui had his best game of the season but I just like what Sutton brings.

I honestly have to say the same team as today.

If Tapine is back we move Bateman back to lock

I love Aidan Sezer, but he has to come back through Mounties now

I’d also strongly consider Tapine to the middle for now, gives us a bit more size in the middle that we missed against Melbourne and will get him more involved, Bateman will have no problems injecting himself from anywhere on the park and is the better option to defend next to Williams

I would like to see Sticky pick the same side that beat the Knights. I would leave Tapine out to fully recover. Sam definitely over Sezer. Sticky in his presser said he thought Sam was his player of the match. If form really counts in Sticks mind, then Sam has to play FG against the Cowboys.

Following John Batemans' 6 missed tackles against the Storm I think it was a masterstroke by Sticky to have Sam ride shotgun for JB against the Knights.:) Sam to half back and Bateman to the right side were the direct result of injury to other players. I don't think defensive 'player protection' had anything to do with it.

Only change is I would prefer Sutton to start, and Lui off bench. Sutton the bigger body is better early, then Lui with some leg speed off the bench

I wouldn't pick Lui at all tbh

His numbers are looking like FPNs

Rd 1. 8 runs 65m
Rd 2. 5 runs 39m
Rd 3. 6 runs 51m

Replace him with Sutton and play Guler off the bench

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Canberra Raiders star John Bateman determined to bury 'Faders' tag

When John Bateman arrived in Canberra he heard the "Faders" tag. And it made him angry.

"When I first got here I heard the saying "the Faders" and I'll be honest with you, it probably annoyed me a bit," he said. "But we know what we're about and we know what we're doing as a club, and [Friday] night is an example of what we're about. We don't want that tag any more. It's alright for people to say and laugh about it, but it hurts us and we're not about that anymore.

Sam Williams ready to take the wheel for the Canberra Raiders

Canberra Raiders halfback Sam Williams has declared himself ready to take the wheel of the Green Machine as club coach Ricky Stuart finds himself at sixes and sevens.

"We did a lot together in the pre-season in the halves group and I am quite comfortable with my role within this team, that if I am called upon and needed, that I will do a job," Williams said. " Whatever happens next week is probably out of my control but winning games it the number one objective and we did that.

while I admire your newfound confidence, the cows were pretty good against the sharks for about fifteen minutes tonight. Can we hold up under that sort of pressure?

Yes, we can. We actually look like a normal football team, not like the Raiders.I love it. Though I think longterm predictions should probably wait till after at least round 5.

Except that I predict that Sam Williams will be playing halfback pretty much for the whole season now.

1st 3 weeks have shown we can play for 80min. This should be enough for the Cows, they are an ordinary team without big JT.
Forward pack is ok but aren't playing to their ability. Backline is ordinary.

As much as I don't like the Sharks grubby tactics, they play tough football and for the next two weeks against the Cowboys and the Eels we follow them. To me the Cowboys and Eels are middle third sides, ie they are likely to finish somewhere between positions 7 to 11-12 in a 16 team competition. I think we have the ability to leap frog them on the competition ladder, but we need to prove it on the field starting at 1300smiles next round.

Hudson Young did really well but he’s a genuine second rower and when Whitehead, Bateman and Tapine are all fit (plus Papalii and Soliola capable of shifting there if required) I don’t think him on the bench makes sense.

I’d probably persevere with Lui until Guler/Hunt command his spot. Young plays when one of our main 3 second rowers are out though.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

I see the Raiders have come in from $2.10 to $1.90 after NQ effort against the Sharks. I think it actually makes it harder to win NQ would have been embarrassed by that result at home.
