74th min TRY BRONCOS to Jack Bird. Gareth Widdop does his shoulder on the try line, loses the ball and the the Broncos pick it up and score. Converted from in front by Isaako. That's tough for the Dragons.

Pretty sure there was a shepherd and a forward pass that last Milford run.

Always pleasant to watch the Broncos lose like that.

The 7 tackle set is easily the worst rule ever made. An extra tackle and 20 metre donation. Ridiculous

I know it's a moot point and maybe the camera angle was poor but it looked like Osaako took that conversion from directly in front when the try was scored next to the post.

Shame to see the poor Broncos lose in that fashion, damn shame.

That ball certainly never hit the ground before it was kicked. It should not have been allowed.

The winning point was scored off a punt, not a drop kick, as required by the rules.

Wasn't that a penalty to the dragons when widdop was on the ground and Boyd tried to take him in goal? I thought the player is held as soon as the hands are placed on him? Isn't it a second effort normally?

Yes a questionable call. I thought it should have been reviewed by the bunker and you just know if the teams were reversed - say it happened to Darius - they probably receive a penalty. Still that's what makes the loss even sweeter.

One for GE or others with an acute understanding of the rulebook. That second try to the Dragons, down the touchline. His left foot is out and then he catches the ball and scores. Is his left foot meant to be grounded inside the field of play before he catches the ball or is his right foot being grounded in the field of play sufficient?

He is supposed to be in. But I'm not sure he was out, as he lifted his foot and the toe was in field.... as I recall.

Assuming the foot was up?

Only matters when jumping from outside the field and touching the ball before you've grounded

I saw an angle on high definition and his foot was actually just in (you could see a slither of green between his boot and the sideline.

Norman's heroics soured by shoulder injury to Widdop

A Corey Norman field goal with seconds remaining has given the Dragons a stunning 25-24 win over the Broncos on a night where St George Illawarra fullback Gareth Widdop suffered a dislocated shoulder.

The NRL comp consistently throws up results where the more committed team beats a 'better' team. Pressure is a big thing in the comp and I had a feeling the Broncos wouldn't put the energy into the contest that the under pressure Dragons would. This is also why I think the Dogs will give the Tigers a shake and I also think the Titans will get a lot closer to Souths than people anticipate. Mental attitude is such a big part of the NRL, there aren't the easy teams there once were and that exist in most sporting comps.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

Yeah it really was, lots of attacking footy. I screamed when Norman nailed that field goal, it’s time like that when you’re glad the Broncos exist.

Interesting call for that Aubusson try. I thought he knocked it on from the wider angle. Probably similar to the correct no try call on Williams tonight.
