Pork ribs. I’m already plotting my next attempt, now that I figured it out in the end.

I did one of those Ancestry DNA tests a while back. They've just updated their data as they've added a lot more tests to their panel data. So the results are now even more accurate.

As expected, it found that my background is mostly southern England, Scotland, Ireland and a bit of France. But the new information on the latest update is my background is 6 per cent Norway. So, I have Viking ancestors! I guess from when they repeatedly invaded Britain. Today, I feel even more like a Raider!

Looks like my favourite and local sports bar, Hale + Mary at Kingston has closed down. One block walk from my place...

Doors were shut the whole week and they're packing it up today... Shame, it was a great place.

Looks like if you had‘ve enough gone there more often, maybe they’d still be open?

I don’t see my local pub in any danger of shutting down anytime soon, just sayin

Two off topic questions for the morning

1. For the Charcoal BBQer's - Now that I've tried my hand at ribs, I think I'm going to have a crack at Chicken this weekend. Any good recipes, or temperature/cook time suggestions? Looking online, but I trust you guys more lol.

2. Now that the backyard is (mostly) done, Im turning my attention to the Garage. I have this image in my head of highish cupboards, so I can park the car and have the bonnet underneath the shelves. So I can park in closer, and not waste that space storage wise. I'm trying to avoid wall mounted shelves, so the preference is free standing. Has anyone seen anything like this?

**Edit** Found this

It is 8C in Canberra and apparent temperature is 4C. I'vd had to turn on the heating and it isn't even April.

Sat outside all afternoon at junior reps and the wind... it was a gale, icy, freezing. It was a bit better if you were in the sun. I took the light jacket and wish I'd taken the heavy duty one. It was freezing! Luckily, the heavy rain held off until I got back into the car.

Last night... if you want to see a storm... watch The GH Live... it was almost as bad as the storm in Auckland in 2017 when we were doing The GH Live there. We've had some weather!

I've just gone back 30 odd pages in this thread and read it through.

There's Mack and Cheese
Nickmans engagement
Hugh Hefners death
Frank and Voilet
Boneys cricket updates
Ya all gotta take time and have a laugh.

One thing I did notice though is I'm in this"off topic" thread a lot..probably way to much.

Sorry in advance guys..

Well it is good to know what we're up to outside the 80 mins we invest in footy every week and the discussion around it I spose.

So Nickman, how's Rocky ?

I've been there once. Got treated at the local hospital.

Rocky's good mate. This time of year the weather is absolutely delicious, you won't find any better weather anywhere on the planet.

The local hospital is dicey and **** though. You're lucky to be alive.

It was raining the day I was there !!!

As for the hospital visit. I had a piece of wood..a very small twig lodged in my eye. I spent 12hrs under the care of Rocky hospital nurses. I had numerous flushings of the eyeball. It took a long time to remove it. I was taken care of, so no complaints.

After 2 years in the 2765, we finally have a local

https://www.themarsdenbrewhouse.com.au

The Good: Food is good. The beers they craft on site aren’t too shabby either. The plan is nice and open, yet it’s not loud. I was expecting it to be noisy as all hell.

The Bad: Their first week has been ordinary. I’m sure it’ll sort itself out. Made a booking for Friday night, when I got there, my reservation wasn’t listed. So they put us outside, which would have been ok if they had heaters.
When it comes to ordering food, the line was the same as the people wanting to be seated. So there was a 40 min wait just to order food.

They’ll come good though

The Canton Beach sports club in Toukley NSW does not have Tooheys.

We'd been out for a drive this morning..The Entrance, and back thru Toukley. I was thirsty and lunch time was upon us so we found this club ^^^^. I went to the toilet while Mrs PJ went to the bar. She knows what I drink. I come out of the toilet and she says" they don't have Tooheys".

UNBELIEVEABLE..to think a club in NSW doesn't have Tooheys.

We left..ended up at the Halekulani Bowling Club in Budgewoi..Tooheys everywhere !!!
