The test series vs. Sri Lanka ends on February 5, and to a lesser extent the Big Bash ends on February 17.

I'll put my brain back into football mode properly then.

We get three games a week over here in the UK.

Just had a quick check and we have the Raiders in rounds 1, 2 and 3.

Quite a bit of Souths, too. Looks like we're following the English players this year, rather than fitting around domestic rugby union from New Zealand.

Why wouldn’t they screen all games? It would be relatively cheap content.

Probably so the NRL can sell it's streaming service.

Partly this and I don't really think there's that much demand.

I don't understand either why they don't have every match of Super League broadcast either.

Again, the demand just isn't there and the broadcasters aren't interested. There wouldn't be any extra advertising or subscription revenue for them, but a whole load more costs.

Every sport struggles over here in the shadow of football, but rugby league really is marginalised and has virtually no profile outside of its heartlands.

It's really interesting seeing the media response to the 2 top codes in Australia. There is no doubt that NRL has it's issues but watching the ABC news and also Offsiders recently the social commentators were happy to lay the boot into the NRL for all of the scandal in relation to violence, but when the discussion turned to the drug problem in the AFL the narrative all of a sudden switches to it being a 'societal problem'.

I don't totally disagree and I am sure there is a heap of AFL stuff that gets covered up. Really though Rugby League has broken all records this off season and that's probably across all sports globally. It's quite a phenomenal effort from the players.

Yeah, I am sure there is a heap of AFL stuff that gets covered up and always thought it's probably 50/50. Really though Rugby League has broken all records and probably across all sports this off season and deserves everything it cops. It's quite a phenomenal effort from the players.
Don't get me wrong I agree with you but this narrative has been happening for years.

So toovey and kimmorley think we will finish lower than last year.

We have the worst spine this year

We've been written off by everyone

It's the perfect storm for us

Top 4 finish easy!!!

Kayo no, and they have protection against using VPNs to pretend you’re in Oz. However WatchNRL is a godsend. Costs me £125 for a season pass and gets every NRL game live, State of Origin, but none of the international games, plus you get the Fox affiliated league shows (NRL360, Matty Johns, et al).

I at least feel we will improve as the season goes on. Barring key injuries we should be able to build some combinations over the Course of the season.

Charnze may prove a good player, but if he doesn’t have a good link passing game to our wings then we will lose what Wighton bought to our outside backs.

I honestly think if CNK doesn’t quite work out we should slot Rapana back there when he returns
