The Canberra Raiders say they are yet to finalise a deal with George Williams amid reports the English halfback has signed a three-year deal with the club.
Raiders chief Don Furner says nothing is set in stone with Williams still contracted to the Wigan Warriors for the 2020 season.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Do you think that Sezer has told the Raiders that he's ready to move on next year? That's why they've organised the signing of Williams now?
Good question - I haven't got a clue but it might make sense. Then again, where would Sezer be moving on to?

For speculation sake Warriors, Bulldogs, Tigers, Manly

Warriors sure. Manly maybe. Dogs have future superstar Lewis. Tigers have already dropped their most expensive player to be a half in reggies. Though yeah Warriors...
Let's see where this season takes Lewis. I'm not convinced he will rise to much. Teams will work him out.
Regarding Sezer he travels back to Sydney whenever he can, to me he is the one who could walk away to move back home and Dogs would be that destination.

For 2020 I'd rather have Sezer than Keighran, Foran, Benji, Elgey or Moses so I'd add Eels to the list
Jury is out on Lewis. History is full of promising halves who struggle to take their game to the next level. Sezer and S Williams are classic examples.
Lewid is at the point right now where he either steps up or falls back into the pack of middling halves.

Lewis is a bit of an odd player. Great game management but the rest of his game is sub par. I think he is more likely to have a first grade career than some of the hyped young halves which are all about attack.
Wigan Warriors chairman Ian Lenagan refusing to be drawn into George Williams speculation
Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan has refused to comment on the future of George Williams. Lenagan declined to comment on mounting speculation over the future of Wigan's England stand-off Williams, who is thought to be edging closer to a move to the NRL.
Canberra, who recruited John Bateman and Ryan Sutton from Wigan in the close season, have denied a report that they have signed Williams for next year but that has not put an end to the rumours.
That’s a transfer fee of $375,000, if it were true.
I’m starting to wonder whether this is just how Wigan do business. John Bateman’s signing was delayed for a long time... until Wigan decided to announce it (trumping the Raiders own announcement). In the process, they announced Bateman had signed a marquee deal to return to Wigan after his Canberra contract... when he hadn’t.
I suspect they’re very sensitive about losing players, because their own fans seem to be accusing them of becoming a feeder club for others.

I dont think it makes much sense at all
He was re-signed only what? 6 months ago.
I think ideally the club thinks without Austin and with Wighton in a very clear secondary play maker role, Sezer can step up and be who they thought they were buying and then move forward with Williams-Sezer... with Wighton going back to fullback or to centre thereafter.

and the 3 bed apartment? It sounds more than a little dodgey to me.
It is likely pretty standard to cover some relocation expenses, and that could involve temporary accommodation for a period until they can find their own place. Certainly long term accommodation would be caught by the salary cap.
