Canberra Raiders veteran Sia Soliola backs NRL's tough stance on bad behaviour

Canberra Raiders veteran Sia Soliola backs the NRL's crackdown on off-field incidents.

"We were told about our actions and what the repercussions would be, especially after the numerous incidents before Christmas, that the NRL was going to come down hard. And it seems like they're going to stick to their word. You just hope the player's OK, but first and foremost for us collectively as a game we've got to protect the game first.

Sia Soliola backs Jack Wighton's switch to five eighth

Sia Soliola has backed long-standing fullback, Jack Wighton to successfully switch to five eighth in 2019.

"I like the idea, having Jack in front of you when he has the ball and you're in the defensive line, he looks great," he said. "He'll definitely add a lot of value, but just having Jack back he's going to be a huge boost for us. He's been great since being back at training. He was great when he was out as well but he knows what this club is about and it means a lot to him and he means a lot to us."

Jack Wighton’s possible switch from fullback to Canberra’s halves has been given a tick by Raiders NRL veteran Sia Soliola.

“I like the idea of having Jack there because, standing in front of him when you’ve got the ball, he has such a presence in the defensive line. Everyone can see how he can hit.”
