I've seen a few people pick the titans as a genuine shot at the 8 this year and looking at that list it's got me wondering why? I don't see a finals team there.

Solid pack. Paper halves. No depth. Another season bottom 4.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

They have improved their squad a lot compared to some of the other strugglers, enough to to pick up at least 2 or 3 more wins. That puts them on the edge of the 8.

Pretty good pack. Might surprise a few teams.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I really don't rate Peachy at all. But, they've got the pack to make Taylor and Brimson effective. Depending on the draw they could make the 8.

Trevor Gillmeister joins Gold Coast Titans coaching staff for 2019

The Gold Coast Titans have secured another recruitment coup with Maroons legend Trevor Gillmeister joining the coaching staff in an official capacity as a defensive consultant.

Gillmeister attended sessions last year to assist coach Garth Brennan on an ad-hoc basis but is now going to be on board each week in 2019.

If you were a titans fan and what you had to go on were his efforts versus them and a few highlights you would have been pretty stoked when he signed.
He needs to pull his finger out. He's got to have the biggest range of **** to God mode of almost any player in the NRL.

He deserved his selection at the time. It was earned through performance on the field an not by reputation or other influences. Since then he hasn't come close to the same level. He's now in his 3rd year of underachievement.

@nrlphysio

Initial fears confirmed with Ryan James out for the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury. Will undergo surgery and usual recovery period of 6-9 months, should be fit for Rd1 2020. Just the 2nd NRL ACL injury for the 2019 season. Wish James the best with surgery and rehab

Gold Coast Titans part ways with coach Garth Brennan: Position 'untenable', says chairman

The Gold Coast Titans have announced that they have parted ways with Head Coach Garth Brennan.

“No one at this organisation, or anyone involved in rugby league, wanted Garth’s time as Head Coach of the Titans to end this way,” Titans Executive Chairman Dennis Watt said.

“However, the results the club has achieved on the field this season have not met expectations, and the team’s performance in recent weeks has fallen to a level that is unacceptable to the Board, our Members, fans, sponsors and partners.

“Unfortunately, that has left the club in a situation where Garth remaining in the position of Head Coach has become untenable.”

Watt paid tribute to Brennan for his service and commitment to the Titans, where he has served as Head Coach since the end of 2017.

“While the on-field results have not been what we hoped for, Garth will still leave a tremendous legacy for this club with his contribution to the creation of our development systems and pathways,” Watt said.

“These will ensure the Titans’ future will be built around the best young players growing up on the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales.

“Along the way, Garth has handed NRL debuts to players like AJ Brimson, Moeaki Fotuaika and Jai Whitbread – players who will be at the core of this club for the years ahead.

“Garth, his wife Rachael and their family have made real sacrifices in moving to the Coast, and Garth has dedicated himself to connecting with Titans Members, fans, local leagues and the wider community.

“Garth has been tireless in promoting the club and the game. He is a decent and genuine rugby league man, and everyone at this club wishes him and his family nothing but the best for the future.”

Watt said Assistant Coaches Craig Hodges and Luke Burt would take over as interim coaches of the Titans for the rest of the 2019 NRL season, with a replacement Head Coach to be decided upon at a later date.

The club will be making no further comment at this time.

Should be sacked for signing Peachey and Boyd alone

And didn’t GC re sign him earlier despite being so ****?

Out of all players available..yes I would sign Jai Arrow.

We don't need backs..none from the Tits anyhow...and forwards..looking at their current bunch..no.

Jai Arrow is a current Origin player..and a good one at that..

But hey dubs..we're all waiting for your opinion !!
