Canberra Raiders release Junior Kiwis half Paul Roache

The Canberra Raiders have released development player Paul Roache after the New Zealander asked to be released on compassionate grounds. The Raiders confirmed 19-year-old Roache wouldn't be joining another club but will return home to Auckland for personal reasons. Outside back Bailey Simonsson is expected to sign a development contract in the coming days.

Whatever the personal issues are, I hope he can sort them out. I wish him well. As a footballer he had a long way to go before being considered for NRL. More opportunity for others.
