It is very good defence from Jamaica, Canada try disallowed as they used the player playing the ball as an obstruction.

Jamaica lead 12-4 with a few minutes to half time.

Link to the live stream above, for those interested.

And that's HALF TIME.

Jamaica 12
Canada 4

Winner of this game meets the winner of USA V Chile... and the winner of that game goes to RLWC 2021. The runner up goes into the World play off.

Didn't expect that result.

Jamaica has a number of heritage players in the English second division, unlike the Yanks who have several local players.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

From stone fields to the World Cup: The Australian influence in Jamaica's stunning rise

Jamaica coach Romeo Monteith hopes the legacy of qualifying for the 2021 World Cup will be a dedicated rugby league field in Kingston and an invitation for the Reggae Warriors to play at the new International Nines in Australia next year.

"I think we are the fourth-biggest domestic nation on this side of the world [the northern hemisphere] in terms of participation numbers, behind England, France and Wales," Monteith said.
