Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
I think the Sharks will be too good but I will be hoping the Panthers can win.
Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
Between a rock and a hard place choosing between these two.
The Sharks coach should have been banned for life from rugby league for his part in the Sharks' doping scandal, the captain and Wade Graham... should have spent four years on the sideline for it. They're a dirty club.
Then there's the Panthers and Gould...

Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
The Storm organisation deserved a harsher penalty too, but we've gone over this and it's as tedious as your argument with the Sharks.
Anyway still love you GE.
Looks a pretty ordinary crowd for such a big game.

The Storm penalty couldn't have been much harsher gerg! Two stripped premierships, three stripped minor premierships, World Club Challenge title stripped, disqualified from all competition points in 2010, $1.7 million fine. No other club has received harsher penalty. What else did you want?!
But still love you too gerg!

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
It is difficult to get to the SFS, it's difficult to travel anywhere in Sydney. But it is two Sydney teams... and Week 2 of the finals... two games off a Grand Final. It is poor.

Yeah Sydney is not friendly for sporting events.
Still a crap crowd though.
AFL had what, 2 crowds over 90k last week?

At a place that is a piece of piss to get to
You can walk from basically anywhere in the CBD area
It's why people who claim Sydney > Melbourne are deluded

Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
Cheating on that scale is just as bad as the doping scandal. If you think a 4 year ban for the Sharks players and lifetime ban for Flanagan is acceptable then why shouldn't it be similar for Storm?greeneyed wrote: ↑September 14, 2018, 8:02 pm The Storm penalty couldn't have been much harsher gerg! Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
There is nothing worse than doping IMO. There is a strict world drug policy... it is supposed to be strict liability for individual athletes etc... and somehow the NRL managed a three game ban for a four year offence! Now that is ridiculous! That was the standard applying at the time.gergreg wrote: ↑September 14, 2018, 8:16 pmCheating on that scale is just as bad as the doping scandal. Now if you want to make breaches of the salary cap subject to similar penalties, fine. But you can't do it retrospectively. That's crazy! And not only that... the NRL cleared the individuals concerned (coach and players) in the case of the Storm. So I can't see your argument gerg.
I'm starting to think secretly, you love Shane Flanagan and Paul Gallen and maybe Andrew Fifita!

Cheatings cheating
Only difference is the sharks put players lives at risk

Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
Every time I look up, the Sharks are scoring. They are such a despicable team. And by the way... they've admitted to salary cap cheating this year too!

Maybe if the penalty for salary cap cheating was harsher we wouldn't have a salary cap issue every single season?greeneyed wrote: ↑September 14, 2018, 8:22 pmThere is nothing worse than doping IMO. Re: 2018 Finals Week 2: Teams and Game Day
Maybe you should be arguing for an increase in the salary cap penalty in this case? Rather than the Storm receiving more penalty than they did? And it is by far the toughest ever salary cap penalty... much worse than the one imposed on the Raiders.gergreg wrote: ↑September 14, 2018, 8:31 pmMaybe if the penalty for salary cap cheating was harsher we wouldn't have a salary cap issue every single season?greeneyed wrote: ↑September 14, 2018, 8:22 pmThere is nothing worse than doping IMO. BTW... the Sharks were not only rewarded with minimal drug suspensions, well below what are supposed to be strict liability penalties under the WADA code... they were then promptly rewarded with a premiership! The Sharks received virtually no penalty... and they were then rewarded with a premiership!

So why did the players plead guilty? They admitted to being drug cheats. They are self admitted drug cheats. Paul Gallen is a drug cheat. Wade Graham is a drug cheat. The Cronulla Sharks are drug cheats.

The only benefit of hating all the teams in the finals is that every weekend there’s the fun of watching some of them burn.

Panthers have been like this for two years. Whenever they face a side who can hold it together for 80 minutes they struggle.
