Re: Rugby League 2018
You mean the NRL should be able to do what every other professional sports code in the world manages to do? I think you're asking too much.

Re: Rugby League 2018
I can’t believe the NRL can’t introduce some sort of progression towards controlled player signings.
It ruins the enjoyment of the game and the season when one of your players has signed elsewhere and there is still half a season or more to go.
The NRL commission can’t even see the clearly dumb things that have a negative effect on the code.

Re: Rugby League 2018
In many cases now they are playing a full season for 1 team while being signed to play somewhere else the next year.
Maybe this case will be the catalyst for change.

Re: Rugby League 2018
apparently having a trainer on the field coaching the players is an issue now that Peter Wallace has done it..
Would have won Boogs - 2016, 2017, 2018

Re: Rugby League 2018
On the other hand, what Wallace is doing is acting like a 14th player. Runners should be allowed to run on to give one player water, stay no more than one ruck on the field.
Re: Rugby League 2018
They should only be allowed on the field to treat an injured player or during a break in play (scrum or after a try).
I really hate the time wasting and time management the most. Drop out clocks, kick off clocks and scrum clocks; they've all got to go. Ref tells teams to set scrum, if they don't set it, penalty. If the ball is kicked dead why does the team taking the 20 metre tap need to wait for the refs permission. If they have to wait why the hell is the clock still clicking over? In fact in any situation where a player is denied the opportunity to play on, why isn't the game clock stopped?

Shoving it in your face since 2017

Yeah, you're right. The only issue with water is games played in extreme heat.gergreg wrote: ↑September 14, 2018, 7:26 pm They should only be allowed on the field to treat an injured player or during a break in play (scrum or after a try).

Then those games should be played in 4 quarters
Re: Rugby League 2018
Honestly, how is that any different to what Langer has been doing for years?

Re: Rugby League 2018
There's no need for a trainer to be on the field unless a player requires treatment.

As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. Re: Rugby League 2018
Gday all, things are a tad slow now and I'm bored so I thought I'd type up something about how much success all clubs have had..ie how many premierships clubs have won compared to how many years they've been in the competition..why not eh ?
Please note before I start-
1. Storm were stripped of premierships in 2007 and 2009 but I've included them anyway(after all it's about success and it made my job easier)
2. South Sydney sat out the 2000 and 2001 seasons.
3. Manlys stats include the merge with North Sydney(Northern Eagles)
4. With the 2018 GF winner tba Storm, Roosters, Rabbitohs and Sharks stats could improve.
5. The S/L year of 1997 also included..
Current clubs from best premiership/years in ratio to worse..
1. Melbourne Storm 1998- 5/21yrs @ 4.2

I think it's fascinating that St George can't be considered as successful as either Melbourne or Brisbane. If you forget about the Steelers you get a Saints plus Merge ratio of 6.125 - putting them fourth ahead of the Roosters.-PJ- wrote: ↑September 19, 2018, 4:26 pm Gday all, things are a tad slow now and I'm bored so I thought I'd type up something about how much success all clubs have had..ie how many premierships clubs have won compared to how many years they've been in the competition..why not eh ?

I also don't rate a fair wack of those early Souths "premierships". Ask a Balmain fan about the one they won where the Tigers opted not to play and Souths kicked off, scored and won the game. Yay them...
Bulldogs are surprisingly crap too.

Gee quit the club four years ago with questions also raised over almost $300,000 that went missing from the Broncos Leagues Club.
The 2014 Broncos Leagues Club annual report said Leagues Club director Gee used $298,000 without approval for reasons they couldn’t explain
This. This is what is wrong Wayne.
So it seems like the way to sneak out of any issue that the NRL has is to just ignore the NRL and not co-operate.
