Well done to Josh Papalli, after a poor start he had a great season.

I say it every year but it really annoys me that they don’t publish the round by round scores. As someone who does a review show after every game, I would be really interested to know if the votes in each game tallied up with my thoughts.

As someone who comes from an AFL background I find it extraordinary. Any best and fairest count at any Aussie Rules club will always be called game by game. Not too dissimilar to the Brownlow although in this case there is only one game per round so it is heaps quicker.

Jack Murchie turned 21 this year. Every game he played was open age. How does he win the junior rep player of the year??
Maybe that commonwealth nines thing? Fair point though.

Maybe they mixed he and Gulers awards up?
Was that Commonwealth nines thing age restricted??

I am sure we didn’t have anyone in the Under 18 Rep clash. Horsburgh, Hala, Guler and O’Hagan played Under 20s origin. The Under 16s weren’t played before Origin - but I think it was played as a curtain raiser to a NRL game. Not sure if we had anyone in it.
During the presentation it seemed they focused on him playing junior Roos last year more than anything.

Seeing the Vote Tally I reckon Jack would of come close to winning it this year. Hope he has a ripper 2019 and realises his potential.

Under 23s I think. It's the only explanation.

I do think the GH fans who vote are pretty good judges. Interesting to compare the fan votes to the player votes.

I know I harp on about this but look through the list. Not one player in the halves has won the Meninga Medal and only two, the last one in 2008 have won the fans choice award.

I desperately hope Aiden Sezer wins it next year. If he does we are still playing at this time of the year.

Meninga Medal win a turning point for Canberra Raiders forward Josh Papalii

Tough home truths and the love from his family have been the catalyst for a turning point for Josh Papalii, who recaptured his career-best form on the way to winning the Mal Meninga Medal.

"Every time I took the field this year after I got dropped I was pretty emotional," Papalii said. "I took it pretty personal every time I took the field and obviously I think that's the reason why I played a lot harder than I usually do.

Josh Papalii gets personal to turn Canberra Raiders form around

Canberra Raiders star Josh Papalii took his early season dropping personally and it drove him to a second Mal Meninga Medal.

"Obviously with the rocky start I had to the season I'm pretty happy with how I finished it. Still just disappointed with how the team finished," he said. "I went to Elliott after the awards were done and I said, 'This was your award' and that's who I had my money on. I take this award on behalf of the team."

Just browsed through the Green Carpet gallery @ Raiders.com.

It's looks like Betty White may have spent a few hours in the lolly shop before arriving.

Nice work Joe Tapine...winning.

Reminds me of when The GH organised to buy Dane Tilse his jersey. Nice bloke, came over and had a chat after an episode of The GH Live this year.
