Josh Jackson named Canterbury Bulldogs captain

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have announced Josh Jackson as captain as part of a huge off-season of change at the club.

The NSW forward was unveiled as the Bulldogs captain during the club's pre-season camp in Terrigal on Wednesday, replacing the departed James Graham as skipper under the new Dean Pay regime.

Bulldogs land Titans flyer John Olive

MOSES Suli won’t be the newest Dog in town for long with Gold Coast flyer John Olive set to join Canterbury just a few weeks out for the new season kicking off.

Former Australian Schoolboys representative, Olive, has been granted a release from the Titans to sign a two-year-deal with the Bulldogs.

Yeah I don’t get it! Eastwood is still on the cap and when we swapped Abby for priest wasn’t that to get them under the cap? How much was Brenko on? 800k?

Steve Folkes dies, aged 59: Canterbury Bulldogs mourn club legend

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are mourning the death of club legend Steve Folkes, following the untimely passing of the former premiership-winning player and coach. Folkes has died at the age of 59 after suffering a heart attack.

He was a member of Canterbury's famous 1980 "Entertainers" team which won the grand final over Eastern Suburbs and also featured in the premiership wins in 1984, '85 and '88.

Sad news for somebody so young. I grew up watching him and cement Gillespie for the Dogs, NSW and Australia and they were both impressive. Two of the best defensive players in the game.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have released Moses Suli

Post by Goobeeful »

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Mosese Suli agree to part company

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and Mosese Suli have today agreed to part company. Both parties sat down this week and decided that it was in the best interests of the club and the individual if they parted ways.

Bulldogs Chief Executive Andrew Hill said the time was right for the decision to be made: "Right from the start the Bulldogs were committed to giving Mosese every opportunity to fulfill his potential and become part of the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, Mosese has not been able to adapt to the high standards that Dean and the coaching staff have asked from all players and as such we think that it is in the best interests of both parties if we part ways.

'It sucks': Woods wants to stay at Bulldogs but prepared for exit

Bulldogs prop Aaron Woods is prepared for the fact he might follow Moses Mbye out the back door at Belmore to relieve Canterbury's salary cap squeeze, less than 12 months into a rich four-year deal with the club.

Just over a week after Mbye was granted an early release to take up a lucrative contract with Wests Tigers from next year, a candid Woods has conceded his days as a Dog might also be numbered.

Why the Bulldogs need Aaron Woods — and why they don’t

Aaron Woods stalked the sideline, holding the interchange card in his hand, trying to get on the field in place of Clay Priest.

There were 25 minutes left to play. It was 16-all. If there was ever a time for an Australian, NSW and $850,000-per-season prop to come on and run over the top of the opposition, this was it.

Woods supports NRL's sin-bin for foul play on halves

Canterbury prop Aaron Woods says the NRL's mid-season decision allowing referees to use the sin bin for late tackles will protect playmakers from injury.

"It's not a bad rule to be honest ... I've seen the ones [late tackles] on Johnathan Thurston as of late and they're pretty late," Woods told Big Sports Breakfast on Wednesday.

Klemmer not letting club turmoil affect his form

David Klemmer is no wallflower – he couldn't be if he tried.

A 116kg frame stacked 196cms high pretty much ensures that. He stands out wherever he goes. But when he's on the field he is impossible to miss for a different reason.

Every Bulldog has his day and Aiden waited 10 weeks for his

When Aiden Tolman badly injured his ankle in round four, the Bulldogs were in the hunt with one win from four games.

He returned last Monday against the Dragons – after 10 weeks on the sidelines – and his team has suffered 10 losses in 13 games.

No bye-bye from Mbye just yet

Moses Mbye claims to have had no conversations with anyone at the Bulldogs about leaving the club early and heading to the Wests Tigers for the remainder of the 2018 Telstra Premiership season.

But the goal-kicking fullback is quick to add that anything can happen in the NRL so he's not guaranteeing he will be with the Belmore club until round 25. Speculation in rugby league circles is that he will transfer before the June 30 deadline.

He mentally retired when he left Manly.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

It's a shame he has been so ordinary over the past few seasons because he was a great player for Manly.

I still find it humorous that they slaughter the dogs for their antics yet sell out CBUS for Thurston's..

I really hope they can Coffs that on the chin and not Harbour any resentment.

For a club still stinging from recent salary cap dramas where they had to shred some players this $250k fine can't help at all..

Do they need to release Klemmer to Canberra and pay his wage for 2yrs ?

My point is if she never followed through with legal proceedings there is nothing to be cleared of. So of course it's officially on the record to be cleared.

Their behaviour was a disgrace. CEO should advise the players that no player is to have anything to do with them until further notice. No comments, no quotes, no stories, nothing.

The bit that has me beat is that 2 players got charged by the cops for being naked. So essentially let's say there was a bucks or hens night at the same function room and you had a stripper and someone took a photo from an apartment across the road and then took that photo to the cops, would the cops then track down the stripper and charge them? Not a chance. What a beat up.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

Absolutely. Somebody on LU made the comment about Sydney Mardi Gras. Somehow that type of behaviour is acceptable.
