Ivan Cleary is the biggest con-artist in the NRL.
Thieved a career for 12 years where he's done **** all, and still gets considered underrated.

Re: 2018 NRL Round 25: Teams and Game Day
At times the send off for JT has been a bit over the top but the NRL needs to be better at acknowledging some of the greats of the game. So i actually see it as a step in the right direction.

What an embarrassment the NRL refereeing is. “Accidental knee contact”, no penalty to Manly.

How many head high tackles/swinging arms by the Broncos are the referees going to ignore?

Is there a more unlikeable player in the NRL than McGuire? He's the bloke that will smack talk a player who is writhing in agony on the ground. Always has that **** eating grin. When an opposition player makes an error he's the first one there to pat him on the back or give him a shove. Surely the NRL turns a blind eye if Gallen was to plant one on him?

They turned a blind eye to Nate Myles repeated dog acts ... until Gallen had to sort him out and it literally fixed the problem immediately. Will never happen today, but gee the NRL are dropping the ball. Pretending they are doing the right thing by player welfare and a clear case of a player sliding in to stop a try with his knees, collects Tom Turbo flush in the head and the call from the refs is “accidental knees, play on”. Every day is the week, that is a clear penalty.
Tom Turbo was rubbed out for the rest of the game due to it.
Oh and, Adam Blair is a massive dog too.
Re: 2018 NRL Round 25: Teams and Game Day
I actually agree with the decision. It was clearly accidental, however the precedent is there for it to be a penalty. But these are the rules that are thrown out the window when the Broncos play. Early in the game a bomb was put up and the red head winger for manly knocks on in a contest for the ball with Oates but clearly you could see that Oates actually impedes the Manly bloke while in the air. Again the knock on was the right call, but again if the roles were reversed Oates gets a penalty. I've seen him awarded penalties this year in the exact same scenario.yeh raiders wrote: ↑September 2, 2018, 8:01 pmI hate McGuire.gergreg wrote: ↑September 2, 2018, 5:43 pm Is there a more unlikeable player in the NRL than McGuire? Broncos face a massively out of form Dragons this week. If they were playing any other side the NRL would have chosen Klein and Sutton to referee. My guess is they will win easy this week then in the 2nd week Sutton will get the Broncos game.

Re: 2018 NRL Round 25: Teams and Game Day
I agree that it was probably an accident but it was careless, he knee’d him in the head, potentially fractured his cheekbone and that’s simply a penalty every day of the week.

Re: 2018 NRL Round 25: Teams and Game Day
Totally. That would have been a penalty in any other game. How many times have we seen the referees awarding penalties for dangerous contact despite acknowledging that the contact was accidental. I recall Rapana accidentally collecting Mansour in the cheekbone while doing nothing but contesting for the ball in the air but was still penalised for it. The ref said "...yeah, but it was still dangerous contact!"
And Oates actually grabbed Brad Parker's arm while Parker was still in air which forced the drop ball but somehow that was not considered tackling in the air!!?? Yet how often do we see a penalty being awarded for a tackling in the air when the player catching the ball simply landed on the chaser who wasn't even trying to make a tackle but happened to be in the landing zone. Oldfield got penalised in the controversial loss against the Sharks for being a 'blocker' when all he did was turn his shoulder slightly and made the most innocuous contact with the chaser who dramatised the fall.
The inconsistencies in how the rules are interpreted and applied, and so often in favour of the Broncos, are baffling and frustrating.
