It was yet another narrow loss in Round 22, this time to the Tigers... and the season is officially over. The task now, sadly, is avoiding the wooden spoon. The Raiders are at home in Round 23 to the Sydney Roosters, a team vying for the minor premiership. Who should line up for the Raiders in the upcoming clash? Tell us your team here and see how you go in comparison to the official squad when announced. We will include the official line ups in the first post of this thread as soon as they're available.

Whatever happens, expect Paulo, Boyd and Austin to be named and Sticky to **** up his bench rotation.

Remember that game a number of years back where the Knights beat us 70-32? I reckon this could be a similar scoreline.

One thing I hope happens is move Cotric out of Fullback. He isn’t a fullback and we are killing his confidence.
Abbey is a Fullback and just stick with him for now.
We have never lost a game in the Ricky Stuart Foundation jerseys...

2018 Rd 23 V Roosters: Teams and Previews
We will all be optimistic that there will be changes come Tuesday afternoon, then at 4:01pm we will see the same team and then spiral into a depressed state of anger and disappointment and take it out on the GH from 4:02pm until game time.

Re: 2018 Rd 23 V Roosters: Teams and Previews
Sluggish Center third players who will not be here next year will again be selected. Even though young players could really use the game time. Ill-disciplined backs will again be selected because we have no one else, why, well one showed off field ill-discipline and is suspended. Two others are injured and our backline depth is out of, well, out of its depth.

No doubt it will be, pending Sezer’s fitness. The saddest part is there’s really nobody to bring in. Maybe give Guler a run instead of Paulo. That’s about it.

Re: 2018 Rd 23 V Roosters: Teams and Previews
Rubbish. It's a smart tactical play to keep it within 9 converted tries, and then hope for a couple of penalties to win it.
Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Match Review Committee cites Josh Hodgson
Raiders hooker Josh Hodgson has been cited by the NRL Match Review Committee for a Grade One Dangerous throw in yesterday's loss to the Tigers.
Hodgson will escape suspension with an early guilty plea and will have 75 carryover points. If he fights the charge and loses he'll be suspended for one match.

It would actually be smarter to fight this and lose, and have no carryover points going into next season when matches actually matter.

Don't see the point of a back up hooker when Hodgo will play the whole 80, four big men on the bench with three out of the four being fairly mobile, all have the ability to add a bit of impact which i feel as though is not happening with our current bench. Papa is doing a great job in the middle of the park after struggling on the edge early on in the season, Havili is an absolute handful and Lui I feel has warranted a starting spot. Abbey is a natural fullback, Cotric struggled there yesterday while Whitehead was solid without being spectacular out wide, but sadly there's no other option.

Not that it'll matter much against the Roosters but Guler's numbers for the last Mounties game at lock:
73mins, 150m (48pcm), team high 36 tackles (2 miss, 1 ineffective).
We really need to be giving someone that can do that at 20 a chance.

98 metres and 11 tackles. That's a pretty low bar for 'pretty well'
Tapine was our only forward who played well yesterday. The rest were somewhere between satisfactory and garbage.
Re: 2018 Rd 23 V Roosters: Teams and Previews
