To be fair Austin is not in the same league as Norman. Off field issues aside, I consider Norman to be an elite organising half. He was on the cusp of origin selection last year for good reason.

Corey Norman is a 27 year old “professional footballer” who still thinks going out on the drink every weekend is acceptable.

We caught a lucky break when Austin decided he was worth more than $700K a year.

We'd have to be pretty ****ing stupid to spend whatever money we have left on someone just as inconsistent, narcissistic, and delusional as the guy we are lucky to be getting rid of.
Yep. I’ve been guilty multiple times this season of getting excited about the prospect of Norman coming but I think that’s just result of my desperation for a new half. A couple of my Parra mates have expressed similar feelings to Norman leaving as people on here do about Austin leaving.

I think we’d get a burst of new club good form and then a whole lot of inconsistency.

Having said that, I’d take him right now if Parra paid some freight because my desperation level is still through the roof.

Norman and Sezer would work. Both have assets that would mix well and I for one would be over the moon to have Corey Norman here. With a new coach we'd be set. I would even be happy to give Jack a shot in the centres and push Croker to the wing. Cotric stays at fullback.

Paulo was a mental midget before Canberra and he pulled his head in off field. Norman could too. But I'd happily give it a chance. It sure beats having a centre in Wighton play there and do nothing like he did last time we tried that absolute failure.

What do you think Jason Croker use to do when he was playing for us?

Why don’t you throw Jason Smith in as well or any number of other ex players back in 2006.

A lot has changed within regards to preparation in the last 12 years. This is not to say that other players don’t go out on the drink but he deadset posts about it on social media every weekend.

Most players are out drinking and partying on the weekend.
Booze and illicits in heavy doses... there might be a few guys EDIT who have young kids and family situations that limit their partying at home, but they still get theirs in too on away legs.

Partying and drinking is fine with me, but posting it all over social media is very dumb when you are in the spotlight

I think Canberra would be good for Norman, he is old enough to know he is here to put his head down and work. People like Dugan and Carney grew up here and had all the social distractions that come along with that. Canberra is one of those places that if you grow up there, its easy to get a case of wanderlust once you hit about 20, think that happened to Dugan in a way, i'm scared it will happen to Cotric and he'll go play for his beloved Boncos.

If we sign Norman and TPJ for next year the club will save face I reckon. It amazes me the club isn’t shopping around some of our backs at the moment. Everyone knows we need a front rower and a half.

Wighton, BJ, Williams, Sezar should all be on the market by us.

My 2019 dream team

1. Cotric
2. Rapana
3. Croker
4. Wighton or BJ (trade away whoever we get the most for, or trade both and bring Cotric to centre and Abbey to fullback)
5. Oldfield
6. Sezar or Willams (trade whoever get most for)
7. Norman
8. Pangi Junior
9. Hodgson
10. Sololia
11. Tapine
12. Whitehead
13. Papilii

14. Sutton
15. J.Bateman
16. Murchie
17. Lui

Considering all we reportedly have left in the cap would be a Pie and a Coke, I'm not surprised... If only we had an sausage roll to throw in...

We're taking to TPJ, not Milford

So frustrating! We need to strip players ASAP for a player like TPG. He is a long term keeper.

If they reduce the interchange next year, do you think that it might improve Sam WIlliams'zez game as to a be a pretty competitive half? Yknow, the smaller guys will get there due playing against tiring bigger guys? As opposed to now where he can just just get steamrolled all game?

EDIT

I think it’s a slim chance of being moved to 6 interchange but even if it did, the players are that fit now that there will be no real advantage.

If the NRL wants to really bring fatigue in and the unknown, they should go back to interchange where once you are subbed, you can’t come back on

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Barba to fullback and Wighton to 5/8 really does solve a lot of problems. Stiffens the defensive line with a strong runner with a nice passing game, and adds an attacking fullback that actually knows how to position himself in defence.

All we’ll need is a quality coach.

Sharks have said they won't be signing Barba. It would be nice if we found the money to go after him.
