Cotric hasn't shown anything amazing at fullback... I really can't see it being anyone but Wighton with Cotric returning to the wing. Also Bateman starting? I would really hope we have a new 5/8 and a new prop on the books before the season is done...

1. Wighton
2. Cotric
3. Croker
4. Bj
5. Rapana
6. Williams
7. Sezer
8. J. Bateman
9. Hodgeson
10. Papa
11. Tapine
12. Whitehead
13. Soliola

14. Havili
15. Sutton
16. Murchie
17. Lui

ok so imagine this, Paulo and Boyd are gone, slow and sluggish imo, in comes John Bateman and Sutton, dynamic offloading good defending players, forget the backs in 2019, if the fowards suck we wont make the 8, I honestly think we improve though.

Next year is a right off as well. We won’t be a top 8 side either. TAB will have us as equal favorites for the wooden spoon with bulldogs

Getting rid of Paulo and Austin is a step in the right direction but the majority of our issues stem from the top and with Ricky staying on as coach, it is hard to see a way out.

On the assumption no one else is coming to Canberra:

1-Cotric
2-Croker
3-Wighton
4-Leilua
5-Rapana
6-Sezer
7-Williams
8-Papalli
9-Hodgson
10-Knight
11-Whitehead
12-J.Bateman
13-Tapine

14-Lui
15-Murchie
16-Sutton
17-Havili

Ugh. Not great.

Next year will be dismal for sure. Wighton belongs in the centres, if anything Rapana should be trialled at full back. With our dismal halves pairing of Sezer and Williams we are ginuwine contenders for the spoon. Also we have lost one of the best forwards in the comp in Boyd, with no one to replace him.

When you look at our team for next year, around half or more of the team are not NRL level.

Bateman
Williams
Sezer
Abbey
Oldfield
Baptiste
Havilii
Lui
Knight
Hingano

Ricky seems to think he can promote players from the state league and develop them into NRL first graders. In reality the opposite has happened, instanced by rep or near rep players such as Austin and Papalli being demoted.

We're in for a world of pain. Haven't upgraded anywhere, apart from maybe bench hooker (which was an unnecessary signing)and don't seem to be making any signings of note.

Williams and Sezer are going to be the worst halves pairing in the comp - which doesn't change much I guess, considering Austin and Sezer together are also the worst pair in the comp.

The only bright spot is a couple of young forwards coming through like Guler and Murchie, apart from that it's grim.

I'd put a lock on Rapana, BJ, Papalli, Hodgson, Wighton (maybe), Whitehead and Tapine.

The rest, we wouldn't really miss if they were let go.

But of the likely squad, this is probably the team I'd want to see. Very much hopeful on the progression of Liam Knight. He has every opportunity to establish himself if he's good enough and if he wants it.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Seriously Dubs, how? Which positions have we upgraded?
Image

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

As far as I'm concerned, the roster is as follows:

Quality players who we need to keep: Cotric, Rapana, Hodgson, Papalii, Tapine, Whitehead, Havili (does his job)

Players who can be pretty good on their day but can be inconsistent: Wighton, Croker, Sezer, Soliola, L. Bateman

Happy to move on from: Leilua, Williams, Abbey

TBD: Knight, J. Bateman, Murchie, Sutton

I love Soliola and he is usually pretty solid but I think we may start to get diminishing returns.

So we have 7 players we can rely on to be elite and do their jobs. Not overly inspiring.
