Who **** cares for hypotheticals? Especially depressing ones like these.

How do we get this bum sacked? And how quickly can we do it? That’s all I’m interested in.

Current player form/contracts, new player signings, junior development, memberships, corporate, sponsorship.... it’s all irrelevant and second fiddle until we remove the cancer that is Stuart. His stench lingers over everything we do and keeps us mired in mediocrity. Despite his protestations to the contrary and his sales mantra of “bleeding green” he only cares about his pig-headed self. He doesn’t give a **** about the club.

Even more frustrating when you nail the kick perfectly and trap them in the corner and they still make 70m a set.

I'm going to throw it in here too:

Austin is playing so well because Stuart stopped coaching him. He is free. That is what a player who is free of Stuarts toxic coaching can do :P

Exactly. Don’t fall for the same sales pitch that our board continually gets sucked in by people!!

Ricky is like Tim Shaw from Demtel selling you steak knives!!!

Ricky is not the problem... He's a winner... Who else could get 17 hurting blokes from in there to come out and play like that??

This game is the ultimate in Stuart getting out coached. The Sharks are much more motivated than us, more intelligent. No more talented

This is a career defining half-time speech for Sticky. If we pack it in and concede 40 he better be drafting his resignation on the bus home.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Fair to say he did a good job of turning the team around. Credit where it’s due.

I’ll choose to ignore his persistence with Abbey at the back ahead of Cotric

Cotric did end up there at the end. Must have been trying to get him more involved. Papa also back on for Murchie. Both were good ideas towards the end.
Now if we just start with Cotric at the back.

Still. Not making the 8. Time for a new coach.

Sticky has to go...

IMO we were robbed tonight but that doesn't excuse the failure of a season we have had. Our first four games cost us the season, not tonight.
Im concerned that talk of the referring will defer any criticism of Don or Ricky. 1 finals in 5 years is just not acceptable.

Even more so when it's the top 8 of a 16 team competition... Getting above average is beyond us with one exception which is looking more like a statistical anomaly than ability :(

Yep, I would also like to see our strength and conditioning coach moved on as well. The fitness of the squad coming into round 1 and all the way to round 6 was disgusting.

We also need a new defensive coach.

The fitness is usually bad because Ricky doesnt believe in trials.
The defensive coach is leaving next year.

1 finals appearance in 5 years should have any coaches position being discussed. Particularly when performances have gone backwards two years in a row.

2014 11th in attack 15th in defence
2015 3rd in attack 12th in defence
2016 1st in attack 7th in defence
2017 3rd in attack 10th in defence
2018 so far 1st (Rabbitohs yet to play this round) in attack 13th in defence ( a number of teams could yet to play).

Mick Crawley joined the Raiders in 2015 and we immediately went from the 11th best attacking team up to the 3rd best and have not dropped below that.

Yet when Dean Pay moves on we decide to move Crawley to the defensive coach and hire Brett White. It is obvious where we need to fix and instead of going out and finding someone who can fix our defence we hire one of the boys!

Very well put together RTW. It has been very clear for many years where we need to improve most. It is what we do when we don't have the football. Yet even this week Sticky is bemoaning the fact that he hasn't had the opportunity to play the Raiders 'best' spine. Guess what Sticky, having the second best attack in the League should mean there is less focus on that area. Being a bottom 8 defensive side AGAIN is the major problem. RS has a contract until 2020. He will continue to have 17 players hurting in there and 20,000 fans hurting out here.

Honestly just give up mate, it’s not happening. It’s going to be a very long off season to be hearing this all summer particularly from you.

Furner got 50 plus score lines put on him a lot and almost a spoon in 2011 and he wasn’t getting anywhere near sacked. Ricky has the team competing pretty much every week so he has a long way to go to get sacked.

The top 8 is 50% of the teams, Brew
He's missed a pass mark in 4 of 5 years haha.

Enough.
And no, i wont give up, i'll be calling for this **** to resign or be fired until he either learns to coach a competent football team, or he's sacked/resigns

However long that takes. I'm 31 years old, with 2 kids and a wife... i ain't got nothing but time.

Thanks Redraider,

To add more weight to the defence conversation. Presently 3 teams sit on the bottom of the ladder with just for and against seperate games them. We have 5 out of our 8 victories against these teams.

Including these opponents we leak 22 points per match. If you take those five games out of the equation we average 25 points conceded per match. If you simply look at the matches we lose we average 28 points conceded.

Now compare that to the top 6 teams

Storm concede just 15 PPG
Dragons 18
Souths 17
Roosters 15
Sharks 18
Panthers 18

If we improved our defence in the games we lost to average 19 points ( so still not as good as any team in the top 6) it wouldn’t surprise many people that we would be far and away leading the competition.

If we improved it by just one unconverted try we would be joint leaders.

It just does my head in that we are so consistently poor year after year!
