I like the Lime Green and yellow concentric circle of the old logo.. maybe the current one inside of that but with a blonde beard or blue and white like the first one I’d have to see them first though

No. Old logo is nostalgic, but very outdated.
Re: Would you like to see the Canberra Raiders return to their original logo?
Every logo will eventually be outdated. At least the original has a lot of history attached.

No to the original. Leave it for a special edition jersey. Whatever the current logo is should reflect the era we are in.

No, but I think there’s space for the logo to be updated.

And when our current logo is outdated I'm for updating it too.
It's not like we've completely disowned our old logo. It is still recognized and the history is cherished.

Re: Would you like to see the Canberra Raiders return to their original logo?
Yes! 1000% The new one isn’t new anymore, it came in in the year 2000, so it doesn’t reflect the era we are in. The old one was simple and stylish and yes, garnered quite a bit of proud history along with it. Stick has done so much to acknowledge our history in his tenure but I strongly feel this is also needed. Look at the logo Parra bought in 2000, yikes! They went back to their classic logo. Look at the first jersey our new logo adorned, we abolished everything about that jersey with a feeling we needed to return to our original aesthetic, bar that awful logo. To me the new logo represents the decline into a dark era for the club which lead to the Dugans,
Carneys and Ferguson’s, utter disrespect for our club, old logo is Mal all the way, a future immortal...I could go on fooooorever about this.

I gotta say my bias lies in a complete misunderstanding of aesthetic appeal of the new one, I think it’s ugly af...Weather it’s good or not is subjective to each individual, but you can’t deny the history behind our original logo. NFL Raiders have kept theirs since the 60’s? Would you update the Yankees logo?

I clearly remember tracing the old logo onto the front covers of my school books!
Would happily see it back but it is not going to happen!

I personally prefer the new one, the old one is very old fashioned. I wouldn’t be opposed to a 2019 update though.

I mean you’re usually all about tradition. I thought you’d have been all up in the grill of the old logo.

Not a fair comparison at all. The Yankees logo is iconic -it is recognised all over the world, people wear clothing with the logo on it and wouldn't even be able to name a player.EVH wrote: ↑June 27, 2018, 6:19 pm I gotta say my bias lies in a complete misunderstanding of aesthetic appeal of the new one, I think it’s ugly af...Weather it’s good or not is subjective to each individual, but you can’t deny the history behind our original logo. That old Raiders logo is iconic! It was literally the logo of one of the most successful clubs in some of the most iconic years in the history of the sport. I do a little freelance graphic design work and studied it a bit at uni, so i feel pretty passionate about these things. I am actually really surprised that its such an even split, i thought as soon as this debate came up it there would be a huge push for the old logos return, i am too nostalgic...anyway i made this, an even split of the old and new! Let me know what yr think..Raider Azz wrote: ↑June 27, 2018, 9:39 pmNot a fair comparison at all. The original one will always have a special place in my heart.
The current one is great, I love it.
In the future it will change again..

No way, the old one looks outdated and weird.

Re: Would you like to see the Canberra Raiders return to their original logo?
The original logo had its purpose to establish the brand. The new logo is better imo. Although I have a tash, I like the full beard on the new logo. Back in 1982 the top selling vehicles were VH Commodores and XE Falcons. The music was Dexy's Midnight Runners, Survivor and Duran Duran.
The original logo was right for its time, but times have moved on.

No
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

My suggestion is to win a few comps with the current logo

Re: Would you like to see the Canberra Raiders return to their original logo?
The success of the team is far from reliant on a logo but the new logo does not represent success in any way, shape or form - the original raider is the one thing I have to remember the glory days. It might be outdated but it carries fonder memories.

That’s why the only way forward is to win 3 premierships like Reptar says. Then it’s fair

Unnecessary case of memberries, move on...
I would like to see us with a shot of getting the premiership, don't really give a **** what the logo looks like... If we insist on changing the logo we should be picking something new, not something old.
