2 days after Origin 1. Penrith could have heavy representation in the NSW side. Surely won't all back up. We'll only have Cotric.

With all the hate Wighton cops on here its great to see him back to his best.. His ball playing has improved quite a bit and i reckon he has been one of our best this year
Re: 2018 Rd 14 V Panthers: Teams and Previews
agreed, I'm a Jack supporter and he's been really good all year especially with his assault case in the background for him.Raiders666 wrote:With all the hate Wighton cops on here its great to see him back to his best.. It gives the club an incentive not to sack him should he be found guilty.bonehead wrote: ↑May 26, 2018, 4:14 pmagreed, I'm a Jack supporter and he's been really good all year especially with his assault case in the background for him.Raiders666 wrote:With all the hate Wighton cops on here its great to see him back to his best.. Jacks problem is he often has months and months of good footy followed by months of awful errors ruining his game. Hopefully he breaks that trend this year, because his start has been great.

I’m a huge wighton fan and he has been in really good form. However I still feel that his best position is centre
Either way they should have 5-6 players backing up / missing and us only 1-2.....
So hopefully it’s a bruising encounter and they have a inexperienced outfit

The close talker said he was serving a 1 match suspension during the Raiders/Manly call.
Now we have a bye.
Is he serving a two match suspension or a two week suspension ?
Someone will clear this up pdq...

6. Wighton
7. Williams
14. Austin
Is very tempting. I could probably stomach Sezer instead of Williams, just for the field goal. I can't see how we can continue though with Austin/Sezer
Wighton won't have to change his game all that much different at 6, just kick a little more - can't be worse than Austin

I do think Wighton is our best ball player at the moment... I never thought I'd say it but i'd be happy to give him another shot at the 6. I think his passing game is a lot better these days just not so sure about his kicking

You cant be serious, Wighton absolutely stunk at 5/8, Bulk him up and get hin in the back row / lock, Nigel Gaffey, Brad Clyde, Nigel Plumb type hitter / ball playerRaiders666 wrote: ↑May 27, 2018, 11:47 am I do think Wighton is our best ball player at the moment... Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Re: 2018 Rd 14 V Panthers: Teams and Previews
So at our 'playing' half way point in the season we are four competition points adrift of 9th place. We have the bye before the Panthers game so at best we will be 2 points off the 9th spot after Round 13 with the Roosters playing the Tigers next weekend. The slow start to the season has put us behind the current contenders. Hopefully we can make a run at the 8 at some point this year.
Re: 2018 Rd 14 V Panthers: Teams and Previews
Our draw for the second half of the season looks much harder than what we've already played. I'm a bit sceptical of our chances.RedRaider wrote: ↑May 27, 2018, 6:48 pm So at our 'playing' half way point in the season we are four competition points adrift of 9th place. Re: 2018 Rd 14 V Panthers: Teams and Previews
6 of our next 8 are away and 9/12 are against top 8. We blew this season already.
Re: 2018 Rd 14 V Panthers: Teams and Previews
Hope springs eternal Toviii, so I am keeping all of my chins up. Ed has given the task that awaits us. It is a tough road, particularly as we have not beaten anyone above us on the ladder so far this year.
I reckon we will need a minimum of 28 points to make the 8. This means we need to win 8 of our remaining 12 games. The good news for us is that we have a quality player with footy nous coming back in Rd16. I don't expect Hodgo to be a World beater early in his come back, but I do think he will bring that International experience which will mean better team performance when it's needed. He would have been watching our matches all season and will instinctively know where and how we have let ourselves down.

Re: 2018 Rd 14 V Panthers: Teams and Previews
Penrith is a huge jump in class and the only mitigating factor is SOO. Garvey has to replace Hingano who is either used as the starting #7 or dropped. It's cruel but Sezer's last 2 games at 7 have been shockers apart from the famous FG. I can't see him steering the side home against Penrith so either Williams or Hingano to take the reins. Austin's defence is still sus to add to Ricky's problems. However, if all our losses have been due to bad luck he doesn't have to do much in the training dept except wish for good fortune!
It's a simple game; tackle, back-up, pass, hold the ball! What did I say? "Hold the bloody ball!!"
