Garvey is clearly better in the hooking role IMO.

Bring Garvey in for Hingano.

Hingano is his current role is completely Meh..

Having a hooker on the bench that can add something when he comes on would be massive

I think Hingano has a good passing game. I don't think his defence is NRL center field standard at this point. When we are near the half way mark on the last tackle, running from dummy half is a poor option. Give clean ball to a kicker and allow the side to go into kick chase mode or kick it yourself and aim deep for a sideline.

Unless Garvey is carrying some exotic disease, I simply don't get why he is not being given a run in his best position and we are trying to manufacture a 9 out of a 7. Yet another Sticky mystery.

I don’t think Garvey will ever play in FG. He has done something to Sticky

Surely someone has good mail on the whole Garvey situation?

He's in our 30-man squad. To ignore him is just dead cap spend at a minimum.

I’d love for a CT journo to ask Ricky why he persists with Hingano over Garvey.

Only changes will be injury or suspension, we all know that.

Garvey for Hingano is needed though.

Don’t you know that no challenging questions like that will ever be asked in Canberra. Sticky controls who goes to the press conference at home and if he don’t like ya, you don’t get invited.

Sticky will never be challenged at home. Canberra Times especially wouldn’t go there

Ahhhh, how lovely is the world the morning after a convincing Raiders win?? So good to see them finally starting to win games based on defence rather than attack. That’s what the good teams do. Full credit to Rick and the boys for turning it around.

More of the same this week please lads! Just go out there, start stain and build another solid base on defence.

Hahaha why are you changing up half the spine after two good wins, GeM? That’s utter madness!

Same 17 that beat the Titans for mine! I was happy to see Hingano get some minutes under his belt once the game was comfortably won. I actually think he was starting to look comfortable there towards the end.

Will Tapine be right to play? I only saw the Ryan James tackle at the ground. I just thought it was a good old fashioned tackle but James fell awkwardly and I don't trust that the MRC will see it favourably. We definitely want Tapine against the Sharks with the way they niggle, plus their edge defence is balls at the moment so could be a day out for the kid.
We continue to **** about with blokes that are part of some fraternity. It's infuriating.

Apart from the bad pass to sezer I feelmlike Hingano has been improving, I’d like to see Austin get suspended so we could test Hingano at 6 and Garvey at 14.

Joe Tapine says Canberra Raiders believe they are genuine contenders

They were written off during a nightmare opening month but Joe Tapine says the Canberra Raiders have never wavered in the belief they are genuine premiership contenders.

"[We had] a couple of setbacks and games that we should have won, and in some of them we just didn’t turn up. But we’ve been working hard, trying to get back up there. Everyone ruled us out and they don’t really think anything of us after a couple of losses but we’re here to prove them wrong and we’re the only ones that can change it.

No. No way. Hingano has the physical presence of a banana.

He makes Austin look like Papalii

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Canberra Raiders forward Joseph Tapine has been charged with a dangerous throw but can avoid suspension with an early guilty plea.

Tapine was hit with a grade one charge for a tackle on Titans prop Ryan James in the 68th minute of the Raiders' win over the Gold Coast.

I really hope he goes. $800k a year is a lot of money and he decided to gamble and go to market and he lost out. I applaud the raiders for decreasing his offer based on form and it also sets an example within the club to other players that “you can’t use us to look for other offers and believe that our best offer will still be there when it fails”. It also shows Austin has no real pride in the jersey or loyalty, he is just a money chaser because if he did, he would have signed at $800k a year.

It just makes you think, how much was he chasing? Did he think he was a $1 million a year player??

I just listened to that. His head is not in the right place. Release him right now. Put him on the market and see his value well down on the Raiders second reduced offer. Good bye Blake.

I still wish him the best of luck, hope he keeps building his form this year and earns a bigger contract.
