Voting Closed! TheGH Music Tournament - Grand Final

Post by FuiFui BradBrad »

It’s been a long and tough tournament, but we have made it to the final. Two bands, both absolute legends in music, squaring off to see who is the champion of the Greenhouse.

Squaring off in this final:

Queen

The road to the finals
Queen received the most votes in the nomination round, making them the #1 seeded band for this tournament. From there, they have not looked challenged. They have eliminated along the way
Fleetwood Mac
Powderfinger
The Killers
Oasis
Pink Floyd

The Beatles

The road to the finals
The Beatles made it to this tournament, receiving the 2nd highest nominations, making this a real clash of the titans. They beat along the way
Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Crowded House
Pearl Jam
Nirvana
Led Zeppelin

So it’s up to you gang, who is our champion?

The link to vote is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZY98YXQ and you have until midnight Friday to decide.

I’ve also added some additional questions to help improve these tournaments in preparation for the next one.
Feel free to call me RickyRicky StickStick if you like. I will also accept Super Fui, King Brad, Kid Dynamite, Chocolate-Thunda... or Brad.

This is it Greenhousos, the judges have counted the votes and have declared a winner. It came down to one vote in the end.

The winner, and GH Music Tournament champion is...

The Beatles!

Thank you to everyone for voting and making this tournament happen, and for providing feedback on how to improve the tournament. Stay tuned for the next GH Music Tournament - Australian edition.

Some good feedback for improving the next one:
What didn’t do well
Length: Most people said this, and I agree with this one. With SurveyMonkey, I’m limited to 8 questions a survey, so the more bands, the longer it takes. That said, in most cases I noticed a voting blitz in the first 2 days, then it would go quiet, so I’ll look at shortening the voting period.

Too many Youtube links: Fair call. When I started this, I had this vision of voters posting and sharing videos to “Debate” and push for their champion. That didn’t happen, so I was trying to encourage that more. I’ll fix that for the next one.

Also, I learned after all these years you can edit your own topic! So for the next one, I’ll create one thread, then just keep updating the title as the rounds go on

Thank you for putting in the effort!! The only thing i thought was wrong with it was the results :)
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.
