South Sydney Rabbitohs best 17 for 2018: Make or break call to define NRL season

ANTHONY Seibold’s first season in charge of South Sydney could be defined by one major decision.
Where will Greg Inglis play? The plan is to leave the final call on where Inglis lines up with the man himself.

It’s also understood the preference is to have the man we know as GI wearing the No.1 but it’s a role which could potentially take some kind of hybrid shape to help Inglis ease back into the mix.

BEST 17

1. Greg Inglis
2. Alex Johnston
3. Campbell Graham
4. Dane Gagai
5. Richard Kennar
6. Cody Walker
7. Adam Reynolds
8. Sam Burgess
9. Damien Cook
10. Tom Burgess
11. Angus Crichton
12. John Sutton
13. Cameron Murray

14. Tyrell Fuimaono
15. George Burgess
16. Zane Musgrove
17. Kyle Turner

OTHERS: Adam Doueihi, Braidon Burns, Billy Brittain, Jason Clark, Connor Tracey, Dean Hawkins, Jacob Gagan, Mawene Hiroti, Jesse Arthars, Robert Jennings, Siosifa Talakai, Tyrone Taukamo, Dean Britt, Jesse Martin, Joshua Cook, Ky Rodwell, Lucky Taavale, Mark Nicholls, Robbie Farah, Sam Johnstone, Vincent Leuluai, Hymel Hunt

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Lol @ Farah... just retire or go to England. The bunnies need to find another front rower so that Sammy B can play 13. He's more valuable to them taking the 3rd/4th hit up vs 1st/2nd

Last hurrah for Farah? Veteran unsure if he will carry on

Robbie Farah has given his strongest indication he will retire at the end of the season, despite reassuring himself he still has what it takes to play well in the NRL.

Farah was brilliant in his first game of the season for South Sydney, completing a miraculous 59 tackles and punching out 80 minutes in the 22-14 win over Cronulla on Friday night.

Seibold over-ruled his Origin stars

South Sydney coach Anthony Seibold says it was unreasonable for his four State of Origin players to have backed up against the Titans on Friday night and endure a schedule of three matches in eight days.

Seibold said his four Origin players – skipper Greg Inglis, centre Dane Gagai and forwards Angus Crichton and Damien Cook – wanted to play against the Titans but he overruled them for their long-term benefit.

Seibold praises Inglis for Origin display

South Sydney coach Anthony Seibold said Rabbitohs and Queensland captain Greg Inglis showed he was back to his best with his stellar performance in a losing Maroons side on Wednesday night.

Fifteen months suffering an ACL injury, Inglis's long road back to the top was capped by an outstanding display in the 22-12 loss at the MCG.

"Greg was a great leader for Queensland last night," Seibold said on Thursday.

Pretty much all their players are in form at the moment. The up and comers are playing above their ability. The terrible Burgii from last year have had a complete form reversal. Adam Reynolds is stringing games together. Rookie coach killing it. You could never predict all that happening at once.

Last year the Burgesses were good for at least 3 errors a game each. Amazing how much better they are when they hold onto the ball.

Hmm... did she wait until the Rabbitohs first elimination game to contact the media, or did the media hold the story to maximise the impact?

Would that also imply that the NRL/Souths have been sitting on this for 3 months without action?

NewsCorp is bad, but I’d imagine if the NRL had done anything, the story would be quashed

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are excited to announce the signing of Wayne Bennett as Head Coach for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Bennett has won seven premierships at two different clubs and has guided international teams to Test and World Cup success.
