Red leather jacket

Post by Sterlk »

So I've been doing some online shopping recently, and this one I'm a little unsure about in the cold light of day.

Late at night, super cheap clearance item, in my size, thinking "red is totally my colour, I can pull this off". Something that looks exactly like this is on the way:

So what do you think GH, would you wear it in public?

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

I don't know what it is, but all the famous red leather jacket looks seem to be rather outrageous. Red is a vivid colour but the styling of the jacket itself doesn't have to be.

As a side note, 99% of the non-movie people in red leather jacket pictures are striking 'look at me I'm a doucebag' poses, rather than just looking natural - perhaps not the best sign. :P

I was thinking I'd look more like random stock model #14 here

Than any of these guys

Nah, mine was $159 for the same jacket in a small, much cheaper. I'm guessing its one they already had made but somebody cancelled/returned etc. Not a "need to have", but I'd thought for that price it was worth a whirl.

I don't have a shipment notification yet, so perhaps they are making it from scratch and it was just cheaper because the leftover red leather from making others lent itself to this design and size.

Just got it today, actually looks a fair bit better on me than I'd thought it would. Squeaks like mad though - needs wearing in.

Tell you what, if I ever put on any weight I can forget about ever doing up the front zip. I'd read that they should be closer to tight than baggy, no problems there.
