Shame, whenever I've visited, I've loved it, but maybe that's because I wasn't living there!

Got to close up shop and head home at 11am yesterday due to the storm, after I sent out an email to all the other branches the amount of replies I got about getting a life jacket and finding a good tree cracked me up

Those north of the border are used to modifying their cases of XXXX and bundy bottles into floaties through flood waters so no need for me to give a **** about them :P All this rain must be devastating for the QLD airline industry though,

Yes a great place to visit but it just wears you down after a while. Our family composition isn't ideal for NY either. Two children, 3 and 1 y/o is tough here. Home in a few months though, which we're all happy about.

I work at an airport in rural QLD and I'm pretty stoked at the prospect of some days off if I'm honest

Flooding expected to happen today and early monday. Better go buy my 23 loaves of bread now

Yeah we really need rain
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

It was flogging down most of the day in Bathhurst for the car race and the weatherman said it was heading east but we got nothin.

Well the weatherman tells me it's coming again today..looking outside right now..it's a clear sky.

We seem to have a front with lots of rain approaching... but most of the rain might slide in under the national capital by the looks.

I hope everyone in Sydney is bunkering down and prepared for the tsunami that will hit there at 9pm tonight and kill 400,000 people!!!

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

The timing has me here in tears of laughter. After months of negotiation, we closed on the purchase of a beachfront business in Sydney at 5.30pm ... about 15 minutes before Manbush's post.🤣

Had you waited a few weeks you could have gotten a much cheaper price!

I would have even helped you with the Reno
