Holden Cup ins and outs

Harry Van Dartel returns to the fullback role, with Jayden Carroll moving to the bench.

The Raiders have signed Wesley Tameifuna who previously played schoolboys union in New Zealand, he's been playing rugby league with Brisbane Brothers - and he's been named.

Emre Guler will start in the front row after playing for Mounties and the Junior Kangaroos in recent weeks. Jack Murchie and Fabien Paletua-Kiri also return from Junior Test duty.

Good to see Van Dartel back. Anyone know what happened? Injury? Canberra Cup?

Holden Cup preview: Knights v Raiders

The Knights are 5-4 with a +2 points differential. The Raiders are 5-4 with a for-and-against of -2. In short, this is a toss of the coin sort of game.

Newcastle's home ground advantage could be the difference with the Knights boasting a 3-1 record at McDonald Jones Stadium while the Raiders have managed just one win on the road.

Knights coach Todd Lowrie has tinkered with his squad, moving Jack Johns to lock.

Tip: Knights by 10

Jack Murchie back to focusing on Canberra Raiders after Junior Kangaroos Test

Jack Murchie lived out a childhood dream of his on Friday, when he pulled on the green and gold of Australian and played for the junior Kangaroos.

"It was an awesome experience and one I'll never forget that’s for sure," Murchie said. "I think I did well out there when I came on, considering the calibre of players around me, it made my job easy. I’ll now head back to club footy - put my head down and work hard the rest of this season,” he said.

7th min Canberra have a great opportunity, but a couple of slips cst them. No a huge Knights break is stopped with last ditch defence from Seb Kris... and Lachlan Cooper bats a loose ball dead.

11th min TRY KNIGHTS to winger Kainoa Gudgeon in the corner. Bad kick from Spaander at the other end and they go the length in one set. He can't convert his own try.

It's very soft underfoot out on the Stadium surface. We've had a fair bit of rain overnight by the looks.

There's no kick chase, to easy for the knights fullback to always get back in the field of play.
However good to see the boys play on tv.

They play just like the first grade team. The right side looks like slicing through every time but they go left 9 times out of 10.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

To be honest, that was a pretty poor performance. Too much lateral ball movement, lots of red zone opportunities but barely looked like scoring. Plus poor defence.
