Mind you, "ge's favourite sacked player of the week" does have a nice ring to it.

GE had some quality segments there for a while including the forum rule of the week which was a personal favourite!

I just think this is a fascinating match up of teams. While I was listening to grandstand on the way home from Canberra on Sunday they were talking up the raiders chances because of the lack of structure in our attack.

Basically said that it isn't about executing perfectly rehearsed set plays but is more about getting ball runners one on one or in space and playing off the back of that.

It also annoys me that most of the media seem to be saying we don't have the defence to win this game when the last time we played the storm our defence is what strangled them out of the game.

We haven't produced it week in week out since then but neither has any other team!

We know exactly what the storm will do and that is play consistent, low error, grinding football. They will try to capitalize on any errors we make and in attack essentially run the same block play with multiple variations every time. Smith will get the ball to the right players at the right times.

If we defend as a unit we can shut their attack down relatively easily.

Our game plan has to be to break them down when we have the ball. We are going to have to win every quick play of the ball by isolating defenders or by shifting the ball wide early in the count.

We are going to have to attack but not by throwing miracle offloads but being satisfied with quick play of the balls and working off them.

I think we can win this, we have the game and the players to do it and all the favouritism in the world doesn't change the fact that the storm are very one dimensional. They are very good at what they do but it doesn't mean that they can't be beaten.

I actually don't know where the writing the Raiders off comes from. They did an absolute number on the Storm just a few weeks ago - and although the Storm will be expecting it this time, the Broncos showed you could do it to them again. And the Broncos are a hell of a lot less capable of that kind of attack.

Also - you'd think the RL season was over if you read the Brisbane Times.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Haha, it was an odd thread, but I do understand what you were saying

Right now his pay packet and hype doesn't match his play consistently. But I think we've seen enough flashes to justify the hype and pay packet

We were pretty well written off last week too.

Moylan and his band of merry men were going roll into town and completely dazzle the Raiders.

Hard to imagine we are paying around $3 in a two horse race prelim!

I actually think it is good for us. Takes the pressure off our preparation and keeps the focus on the storm and their wrestle.

It was also strange to write us off against the panthers and it really was our defence for all of our about 15 minutes that kept them out of the game. We shut down their second phase and didn't allow them to play their natural game.

While it's frustrating that the media focus is still on the fact that the panthers played 15 minutes of good football vs the raiders playing 65 it is much easier to be the underdogs and no one is giving us a chance this weekend.

All the more reason to think that we can get the job done!

I would like to introduce a new segment this week (when team lists are announced) based purely on boredom and objectifying the appearance of rugby players.

I'm calling it: "To Bae or Not to Bae?"

Here goes...

To Bae or Not to Bae
Here is your weekly list of baes:
1. Jack Wighton - Some would say Munster is more conventionally attractive, but there's just something about our boy's baby face. Pay the man!
2. Suliasi Vunivalu - Edrick is nice, but this kid is **** built. Can't compete with that.
3. Will Chambers - Hate going against the captain, but his looks are quite plain. Chambers has a bit of X-factor about him.
4. Joseph Leilua - NEXT. Who even thinks skivvies are attractive anyway?
5. Jordan Rapana - NEXT.
6. Blake Austin - Blake Green's face is weirdly round. Austin wins comfortably.
7. Cooper Cronk - Unfortunate for Sezer as he would win many a match-up, but Cronk still going strong at 300 games is a testament to his chiselled jaw.
8. Jesse Bromwich - As far as props go this is about as good as it gets (until Tapine of course).
9. Josh Hodgson - The ultimate bae. Cameron Smith's hairy forearms are a consistent issue.
10. Jordan McClean - Unfortunately wins by default against Boydy here.
11. Josh Papalii - Proctor needs to sort the hair. A Sideshow Bob cut by choice is unacceptable.
12. Tohu Harris - Two unconventionally attractive gentlemen, but hairy Harris wins out!
13. Iosia Soliola - Sia has been chiselled from granite. He wins many a contest.

14. Kenneth Bromwich - Yeah, just not into the whole bald/beard thingo.
15. Luke Bateman - Bateman just seems like a better version of his counterpart Tim Glasby here.
16. Christian Welch - Surprised that I would turn away from the Stallion after a quick google, but here we are.
17. Joseph Tapine - Absolutely 100% would bae.

They're mostly talking about team lists for 2017. So it's not unlike a game preview thread. I haven't seen any chatter about the weekly sacked player of the past segment though.

Seeing as reptar has included me in the segment list for two weeks I've stopped sulking and have decided to once again drop:
Raider Bell is right and if you disagree that's ok, I respect your opinion

Smith vs Hodgson: Hodgson.
