i vaguely recall that but i think it was only suggested that maybe that had something to do with it, i dont think it was every confirmed

this is a fairly significant plot point of the story, id be stunned if it's not mirrored in the books on some level

Doesn't he have a scar on his head in the show as a young lad?

Just watched the ep and am genuinely sad for hodor. His whole life was a plot piece for bran. I wonder if he knew his fate all along. Dammit that just makes me sadder. What a guy.

The reaction to "hold the door" has been quite widespread. I've always thought that if any of it could be made into a movie, The Silmarillion (Tolkien's huge, but unfinished work) could be a massive hit.

*potential Silmarillion spoilers*

While Hollywood would no doubt choose to do the tale of Beren and Luthien first and foremost, the best story from Unfinished Tales is The Children of Hurin. Or of Turin in particular. It is utterly, utterly tragic. I think audiences would respond to it the same way they are responding to "hold the door".

That sort of question might be answered in the book but probably not
If I had to say I reckon he knew it was coming, that's why he was so timid. He knew his path in life, and was terrified of it

So
Um
How
About
Uncle Benjen. I knew it was him as soon as he appeared. Question is, is he the mysterious dude on the horse in the books that gives Bran a lift to the cave of the three eyed raven? In the book he appears to be part human part WW

Yeah that's interesting
There is a lot of theories about Coldhands being Benjen, and it looks as if that's how the show is going to treat it

Not sure the books will go that path but we'll see I guess

Loved Sam taking off with the Tarly sword too. Good stuff

Yeah I had read that
Maybe playing coy or maybe the show is combining two characters and merging them into one to save time
Wouldn't be the first or last time it's done that

Bit of a setting of the chess pieces episode. Id say we see another similar one next week followed by some ramsey magic.

Line of the episode:

"I'm a big **** and i'm tough to kill"

Oh, it's good to have him back.

And still no ramsey. I hate it when our beloved characters go missing for a couple of eps.

69 minute season finale, longest episode of the series.

The Walkers breaching The Wall? Or the Targaryen led Dothraki leaving Essos? Too soon for either? It's clearly going to be something huge.

The thing with GOT is it does not disappoint on season endings like some other shows have a tendency of doing

Ep 9 is called "battle of the bastards"
So that's going to be the big Ep

I'm expecting Ep 10 to be a long one because it's going to bring ever other story into focus and start moving us toward the inevitable combined forces of Westeros v White Walkers

Episode 9 is 60 mins itself.

It's true, the season finales aren't always the biggest episodes. Last year episode 8, Hardhome, was the biggest and best.

Given its called "The Winds of Winter", I'm tipping that the white walkers make a play.

Game of Thrones Season 6

Post by Botman »

Not wild about that Ep.
Though they handled the Arya-Whaif thing terribly, didn't even give us the satisfaction of a good fight scene

Arya had her **** handed to her time and time again and yet badly wounded and with needle, were expected to believe she can just handle her business without any trouble because it's dark? At least she is off to Westeros now, so that'll be good to get her out of this **** story line and into the next chapter

Also hated the blackfish stuff. Why bring him back for this? What purpose does it serve? I think it would have been far better to have him join up with the Starks and command their army as it reclaims the north. And again, we just hear he's dead. No fight scene, just he died fighting. Ok cool. How about give us 30 second scene of him killing some Lannisters and then being over come by the numbers

Didn't much care for dany's return eitheru, but I'm hoping the pay off there will be good. I was hoping that the Iron Fleet care of Yara would save the day there, not the dothraki and dragons

Also we seem like we're going to be robbed of the Cleganebowl now too

I thought that was the weakest Ep of the series so far. Next week looks off the **** chain though
