Papabear is in a clique of one, same as back at high school.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I respect Ironraiden, because when players have **** games he calls them for it.

To put it into context, a good portion of the clique where singing Travis Waddell's praises (I can only assume because he came through some of the raiders junior systems) when blind freddy could see that his service was far to slow for first grade.

Thus, anyone who is not a internet hug seeking clique monkey but has the rugby league knowledge of blind freddy or up, is in spirit papabear.

But no we are not the same person. I am the one and only, still posting under this nickname from back in the rleague days.

Is it a clique? I always thought of it more as a cabal.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

I lurk cos I'm on my phone mostly when I read the GH and it's hard to bang out a lot of stuff with just two thumbs (I find anyway). Not from Canberra but have supported the raiders since forever because Mal was my fav player (also why i support maroons though not from qld).

And my name is a riff on Jason Bulgarelli who made me pull my hair out more than any other player in green

I miss Rodman pre McCrone when he contributed things other than "McCrone Sucks". I assume he's at the dragons forum now (if they have enough fans to support one).

Also post whatever his first username was (escapes me at present). He was a knob under that one.

Basically he had a good year or two there.
To be fair, McCrone was an abomination.

Good to see you again mate
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Dragons 0/2 with Benji, 1/1 with McCrone.

Think about it.

It's a shame that rodman has lost his interest and passion for the NRL and the raiders

All is well.

I just lost interest in the sport itself. I found myself getting increasingly frustrated at how the game was being run. At the same time, I was feeling increasingly alienated from the game's culture (see Pearce, Dugan, Ferguson etc). I began to feel truly ridiculous for idolising these boofheads.

Good luck to the Raiders and all the GH members (besides Nickman).

Yes, Rodman, but it's the Raiders that are the most important thing. It is your club. Don't lose it, due to boofheads.

There is plenty of good people in the game. Its the media that highlight the bad. It sells for them.

I look past the wankers and just laugh at them. They have the world at their feet and are doing something I could only ever dream about yet they go out of their way to destroy it for themselves.
