Help us make The Greenhouse better in 2014!



So the World Cup is on, but it's close to the end of footy in 2013 and it's time to reflect on the year just gone. As is usual, we want to offer you the opportunity to tell us what you like or don't like about the site, what we should focus on, and whether you have ideas on new features for the site. Here's a few questions to give you a start:

1. Thinking about all the features on the site (for example, Teams and Previews, Game Day, Fans' Choice, Canberra TV News, Ask the Raiders, Canberra Grandstand, Mounties, Toyota Cup, Raiders juniors, Canberra Raiders Cup, general rugby league discussion, live score updates, news updates, The Hooter, Matt's Match ups, Competitions, The Golden Boogs) what are the things that you:

Most value

Least value

2. Are there things that you'd like to see on The Greenhouse that we don't do now?

3. Are there things that you'd like to see us do differently on The Greenhouse?

4. Do you follow The Greenhouse on other social media, like twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest?

5. Do you think we should do anything differently on our other social media platforms? Things you like or value? Things you don't?

It's been a successful year for the site - and we now have more than 20,000 followers on all our platforms. Our Facebook followers have doubled, and we have more than 2,000 followers on twitter. The Greenhouse is the Number 1 Canberra Raiders supporters site on the web and we're keen to make sure it stays that way!

So please feel free to tell us what you think in this thread, or you can PM an Administrator of the site with your thoughts. They're important!

Hi GE, have raised it before and I know you are to take it on board. A single page summary of the match on the first page of the game day thread using the Green House updates. There are people, who for a number of reasons, do not get to see on TV/internet or hear or watch the match live. Rather than go through 16+ pages to learn the story of the match, they can see the summary on page 1.

Can we please have a tread for players and coach.
Just for example Reece Robinson has an appreciation thread, a story about him and Travis, where best to play Reece Robinson and so on through the pages.
Can we have a thread Reece Robinson and all his write ups an stories go in there.

Don't think that would work, if it happened that way you would probably miss a lot of headline news articles unless you followed each of said player threads religiously.
I usually check the GH for headlines and only get into the nitty gritty unless I have some spare time on my hands.

I think if that happened too many stories would get lost in a shuffle and would create more work for the person posting the stories.

For example if there is a story for say both Paul Vaughan and Jack Ahearn who's thread does it go under? If both, that creates more work for the person posting the story.

Can the injury thread and signing speculation thread be split up into yearly threads. This is done for everything else.

This would be a good idea..

One of two things:

1 - Some kind of sign up GH alert system that lets users know when there has been a billyt News Flash

2 - Baring option 1, a "billyt News Flash Thread" where billyt new flashes are copied and pasted so other users to see so they dont miss out

On donkeysHQ they have a link bar down at the footer of the thread, for example in the Milford to Broncos rumour thread they have several links to Milford news stories and they also have a permanent link to our Milford thread. I'd like to see something similar in the GH.

That's probably the only good thing that broncos have ever done. Ever.

Yeh, that's why we could do with a specific one that people can use to vent when they feel they need to.
