Tapatalk added it without asking. Clearly they hadn't thought about moderation, swearing etc, at all, before doing so. And The Chat/Betting thread got moderated more heavily than the rest of the forum, because it was regularly full of content which broke forum guidelines.

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

It's not ever coming back. It's not possible to moderate it. And it reduces traffic on the site. We certainly wouldn't do it for game day, it would undermine the game day thread.

Is there something up with the plugin, around midnight every night the unread tab says "no topics"

I get it at 10pm most night , No topics and then about 10:30 they re-appear
