Grizzlies Ready for Cobra Stew

The Gilmore Grizzlies have returned from the bye weekend fresh and ready for action. After spending the weekend bonding, where sources tell us there was plenty of bonding and an "unlimited interchange" rule in place, the Grizzlies are primed to mash the Cobras.

Anthony Laffranchi will miss the match through suspension, but the Grizzlies are otherwise at full strength to take on their in-form opponents.

1. Josh Dugan
2. Manu Vatuvei
3. Joel Monaghan
4. Israel Folau
5. Akuila Uate
6. Terry Campese (c)
7. Johnathon Thurston
8. Steve Price
9. Aaron Payne
10. Corey Parker
11. Eddy Pettybourne
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Alan Tongue

14. Jamaal Idriss
15. Junior Sau
16. Shane Shackleton
17. Alex Glenn

say thats a nice team
You can disregard how well Folau, Idris, Herbert and Glenn do as they'll be playing themselves.

Grizzlies Gear up for Finals

After securing a finals spot for the second year running with a dominant win over fellow contenders the Braddon Bombers, the Gilmore Grizzlies will be looking to continue their build-up to the playoffs. And they couldn't have drawn better opposition to do it.

Team Rampage are assured of finishing in the top 2, while for the Grizzlies a home final is still up for grabs, as they could finish anywhere from 3rd to 8th.

"Obviously we want to finish at least 6th, and with some of our competitors having reasonably easy games, it's vital we get a result here. Nobody wants to be facing the Untouchable in week 1 of the finals, so it's in our hands to avoid that," said coach Peter Penia.

"Another win over a finals-bound side would certainly give us confidence heading into next week."

The Grizzlies are boosted by the return of Craig Fitzgibbon and Anthony Laffranchi, while Nathan Friend has been named to make his Grizzlies debut. Fellow new signing Matthew Wright missed out on a strong bench.

1. Josh Dugan
2. Manu Vatuvei
3. Michael Jennings
4. Jamaal Idris
5. Joel Monaghan
6. Terry Campese (c)
7. Johnathon Thurston
8. Bronson Harrison
9. Nathan Friend (vc)
10. Corey Parker
11. Anthony Laffranchi
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Alan Tongue

14. Kevin Locke
15. Wendell Sailor
16. Michael Ennis
17. Eddy Pettybourne

You may want to reconsider M.Wright, he is the starting 5/8 this week for the Sharks.
