Emerging From the Ashes: Fyshwick Fireballs Arrive for Season 2008

Before a ball had been kicked, Harbahjans' Heroes collapsed under its own smugness, leaving the GH Premiership a team short before the start of the 2008 season. However, an 11th Hour deal was struck to purchase and rebrand the franchise, giving it a more palatable and local flavour. The new look side launched today at the innaugural "player/fan potato sack race"

CEO Sossman added, "It's good not to be abused on the street, it can only be a good sign of things to come. To help promote our image we're establishing a player facebook campaign, giving the fans the chance to wish the players well and influence their contract negotiations." In other news, Adrian Purtell has been re-signed to the new franchise until 2012.

FIREBALLS MAKE EARLY SEASON TRADE TO COVER INJURY CRISIS

Today Fireballs CEO Sossman announced a new signing to covered to injured captain Steve Price. Luke Bailey will join the Fireballs from round two, and looks to put in some big games for his new club.

"Sorry I really can't do interviews, been living on the Gold Coast too long" said Luke Bailey.

"We're delighted to have him. He'll be useful upfront against that useless Turtles pack next weekend" added Sossman.

CLOSE WIN FORCES HAND OF COACH HAWKE

After two rounds of disappointing performances from the Fyshwick Fireballs, Coach Bob Hawke has been forced to make so drastic changes to the side that will face the inform Stingrays next weekend. "I haven't seen so little passion and enthusiasm since the Fraser Government" remarked Hawke. "After a lightning start to the season we're now 3 - 1, having only just scraped home last weekend".

"It's good we can win these tight games, but we really want to dominate games from now on. Coach says if we can't beat his yardglass record this week we're all pussies and won't win" added a dejected Adrian Purtell.

Hey Soss what happened last week?
My favorite forum member is 100%Green. Why? Because anyone who can convince my wife who runs two watch shops and doesnt realy like the Raiders to buy me a limited edition centenary of league Raiders watch is alright in my books.

It's hard god-damn work being a Raiders supporter!
