Mark Read Announces Round 1 side:

The Bomber coach Mark 'Chopper' Read has announced the inaugural Braddon Bomber's round 1 side for the 2008 GH Premiership.
After earlier announcing the top 25, Chopper wasted no time triming his squad down to 17 for the opening round. The team will of course play out of Rugby League Park in Braddon, located behind Bomber's HQ, otherwise known as the Braddon Club.

Chopper was quite vocal in expressing his excitement for the up coming season as was owner and CEO Raider_69.

"We're very pleased with how we've gone about business, to step a franchise in the great suburb of Braddon, there's a real air of excitement around RLP (rugby league park), and the people of Braddon are excited for the coming season. The fact we've assembled an all star cast, thanks in large to the appointment of Mark Read, who is a cut throat coach, makes the excitement levels that much higher. We're really happy with Mark and his coaching team and the team they've assembled for the coming season." - Raider_69

Coach Mark Read had this to say:

"**** hello, how the **** are ya? **** 'Chopper' Read here welcoming you to season two thousand and **** eight. Id just like echo the thoughts of our **** CEO... he's a cheeky little prick but a hard bastard none the less, and he bang on the bloody money here about our side, we're pretty **** pleased with the squad we've got to work with. And it's without further a **** do, that i announce the Braddon Bombers Round 1 team. Though we're not without some **** drama, that bloody tit Jared Hayne will miss round 1 due to a training mishap where he proceeded to try and **** knock me, so i gave to **** prick a bit of a scare and shot at him outside the cross the other night, we the **** Bombers organisation feel young Jared learnt a valuable lesson that night... Dont cross chopper, or elses ill **** shoot ya, we're also running short on props, since that **** hard **** Ben Cross has done himself a mischief and wont be available for round 1, so we've decided in order to harden the **** hookers up, we'll play em in the front row this week"

1. Matt Bowen
2. Joel Monaghan
3. Justin Hodges
4. Michael Jennings
5. Hazem El Mazri
6. Feleti Mateo
7. Todd Carney (vc)
8. Lincoln Withers
9. Cam Smith
10. Robbie Farah
11. Glenn Stewart
12. Dallas Johnson
13. Alan Tongue (c)

14. Kris Inu
15. Nathen Merritt

apparently Chopper though Linc and Robbie were soft, so in order to harden them the **** up, he's named them as front rowers... but as CEO and owner, i will back my coach. Chopper is a shrewd tactician and brilliant league mind. I wont argue with him. He knows what he's doing

So you decide it to hold it on a Tuesday when all the kids are in school? Instead of the Canberra Day Long Weekend? Smart move by Management IMO.

Schifty, ye of little faith
CEO Raider_69 has work until 2:30, and coach Mark Read has prior engagements to attend, he mentioned something going shooting with some coppers... so the fan day will begin for afternoon tea, plenty of time for kids to get home, do their homework, throw on a Bomber's jersey and come on down to RLP

so your running hookers all the way across the front row? I assume its real intention is to gain more points from a more active player? Not bad... I wouldve prefered the comp force us to pick front row and hooker seperately though (if this tactic works)

pretty much Number22
id much prefer they force us to pick front rowers and hooker seperately but since they didnt, i thought id chance my arm with hookers who are likely to

1. score trys
2. set up trys
3. do a lot of tackling

which is think is more chance of gaining good points then front rowers who can score only from hit ups and tackles (and trys of course)
to a degree this game centres more about tactics too, which isnt bad, it allows different styles of team... try scoring, work horse, goal kickers, or a mixture of all

Bombers open with devestating results

Braddon Bombers coach Mark Read was very impressed by his side's opening score to start kick off the GreenHouse Premiership. But there are injury and personel changes coming for the Bombers, with Kristen Inu relegated to the reserves list by injury.

"Yea it was a pretty **** good effort on the weekend, you know we read that **** dishes up by those bloody blow flies at ACTTAB. Thankfully old chop chop got on us at massive odds for the premiership... a lazy 5k at that too, gonna be a good **** pay day come end of season... but some **** changes were required... that bloody soft prick Zillman cost us 1 point this week, so we're giving him one more week to have a crack. Lincoln Withers is unlikely to play although he's a hard bastard, so we've replace him with James Aubbuson replacing him. Kristen Inu got hurt and we've replaced him with Nathen Merrit in the starting side... its another **** ripper team, and im pleased to say we'll be top of the league again at the end of round 2

Braddon Bombers set for Snipers showdown

The Braddon Bombers are gearing up for a momoth showdown against arch rivals, the Snipers. Coach Mark Read was busy prepairing the side and let the media duties to CEO Townsend.

"Yea its fair to say this is abit of a grudge match, but i'd like to water down suggestions of altercations between myself and Mr. Milos.. Milavi... ahh what ever his **** name is. Either way there is no bad blood, even shared a drink him once."

Reports continue to fly around that these men do not see eye to eye and the battle off the park could be just as brutal as it is on, with one eye witness reporting the shared drink Townsend refers to was infact a rumour incident in a pub which resulted in full blown fight that ended when Townsend glassed Milinkovic, according to the eye witness Milinkovic swore revenge whilst the two were seperated.

In on field news there has been some massive changes to the line up for the Braddon Bombers, with Coach Read exercising his trade options, with the release of James Aubbuson for Matt Ballin and Michael Jennings has made way for Darius Boyd. Puzzling is that despite being ruled out for the season, William Zillman remains on the books to this date

"Yea Zilly's still around but realistically we'll be looking at offloading him next week"

"We just needed to do some shuffling in the side in order to be able to afford a quality replacement for Zilly next week" said Nick Townsend

In team changes. James Aubbuson and Micheal Jennings are obviously missing from the side that scraped home unconvincingly last week and are replaced by the new men Ballin and Boyd, Jared Sammut comes onto the bench for injured William Zillman. Whilst Troy Thompson's impressive display last week sees him earn his spot as 18th man on the bench and will travel with the team. The players ommitted will head down to the Bombers feeder club, the St Clair Comets

Braddon Ready to Rumble

The Braddon Bombers have announced their round 4 side to take on GH premiership cellar dwellars, the Watson Cobras. After an impressive round 1 showing, the Bombers have gone on to easily dispatch their last two opponets including bitter rivals the Snipers last weekend.

CEO Nick Townsend was pleased with the outcome of the match and was clearly chuffed to notch up a win over the Snipers man Milinkovic.

"Yea it was a good result, but its got to be remembered that we played very ordinary footy and beat a very ordinary side... We expect better and so do the people of Braddon. Some players need to step up of they'll be axed, just like the two we chopped this week."

Mr Townsend was of course refering to the massive changes to the Braddon 25 man squad initated this week, with injured William Zillman being replaced in the 25 by the live wire titans fullback, Preston Campbell. Whilst the under performing Matt Bowen was sacked for Jared Hayne. Who returns to the squad after a short hiatus.

This has forced some changes to the undefeated Bombers side for their round 4 clash. Troy Thompson will come into the side this week for Robbie Farah who is in doubt. Coach Read is said to not be wanting to risk the star front rower this early in the season. Nathen Merritt has been dropped and Darius Boyd will come into the side. With Preston Campbell replacing Boyd on the bench. Ryan Hoffman will travel with the team as 18th man

Bombers make massive changes

The Bombers have reacted savagely to their first lose of the season, and whilst neither coach Mark Read or CEO Nick Townsend can be contacted at this point, the Braddon Bulletin understands massive changes have been made for their round 5 clash against the Rats.

Inside sources claim a flair up of star fullback Anthony Minichello's back has forced a trade to be made, prefering not to risk it, CEO Nick Townsend initiated a swap late this evening, bringing in form fullback and show stopper Billy Slater into the side, its also understood Lincoln Withers has been released and Richard Faaoso has replaced him in the top 25 for the Bombers.

Mark Read is thought to be tweaking his 3 hooker front row, at least until Robbie Farah returns from injury. Whilst in other news, legendary Alan Tongue has been sensationally dropped to the bench. And has been replaced by Ryan Hoffman. Poor form has been cited as the reason. The Bombers have elected to trial a much more traditional side, with 3 forwards and one back on the bench.

The Bombers team has been leaked and this is how it will line up:

1. Billy Slater
2. Darius Boyd
3. Justin Hodges
4. Joel Monaghan
5. Isreal Folau
6. Faleti Mateo
7. Todd Carney
8. Richard Faaoso
9. Cam Smith (c)
10. Troy Thompson
11. Glen Stewart
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Dallas Johnson

14. Corey Paterson
15. Luke O'Donnell
16. Alan Tongue
17. Jared Sammut

18th man Hazem El Mazri is on stand by for Joel Monaghan, whilst 19th man Jared Hayne is on stand by for Justin Hodges

Bombers Announce Unchanged line up

For the first time this season the Braddon Bombers have named an unchanged line up to take on the Queanbo Querkies. This comes on the back of a magnificant display by the bombers last weekend over coming a spirited Bateman's Bay Rats side who produced their best performance of the year but were out pointed by a white hot Bomber's outfit, lead strongly by new recruit Billy Slater.

The Bombers scored the highest combined total of the year so far in this competition and reached the much sought after 4 digit barrer with their score of 1, 009.

Naturally with steller performances across the board, Coach Read has neglected to make any changes to the side that truimphed so easily last weekend after a disappointing lose to cellar dwellers, the Watson Cobras. The Bombers sit on 6 competition points in a pack of 5 chasing the only undefeated team, the Wanniassa Warriors.

Neither Mark Read nor Nick Townsend could be contacted for a quote.

Bombers Rd 6 side:
1. Billy Slater
2. Darius Boyd
3. Justin Hodges
4. Joel Monaghan
5. Isreal Folau
6. Faleti Mateo
7. Todd Carney
8. Richard Faaoso
9. Cam Smith (c)
10. Troy Thompson
11. Glen Stewart
12. Ryan Hoffman
13. Dallas Johnson

14. Corey Paterson
15. Luke O'Donnell
16. Alan Tongue
17. Jared Sammut

Hazem El Marsi and Jared Hayne are again on stand by incase of any late withdrawals

Round 7 Line up

The Bombers have made several changes to their winning formula for the round 7 match. Nather Friend has come into the side for injured Robbie Farah, whilst Jared Hayne has been replaced by Bombers original, Matty Bowen

Several key players will be missing this week due to the bye however coach Read has named star half Todd Carney despite this, sources close to the club claim its because the club feels he can impact without even playing, skeptics in the media suggest its due to the fact both halfbacks have the bye this week.
