Grasshoppers have interesting start

The Gilmore Grasshoppers have got off to an indifferent start for the 2007 GH Premiership season, with an 8-all draw with the North Canberra Wizards.

The Grasshoppers were the better team on the day, however suffered at the hands of a 6-point penalty for the send-off of Kiwi star Sonny Bill Williams.

Coach David Schrader thought the send-off was harsh, but accepted that this is the reality of a competition in the era of the metrosexual.

Gilmore Grasshoppers 8 (Hoffman, Covell, Carlaw tries, Campbell, Orford PM tries, Covell 3/5 goals, Campbell PM try conc, MacDougall MIA try, Williams sent off) drew with North Canberra Wizards 8 (Crockett 2 tries, El Masri 4/4 goals, El Masri, Crockett MIA tries)

Grasshoppers ready to plunder Pirates

Coach David Schrader has announced his line-up for the match with the Peakhurst Pirates this weekend. A number of changes were forced with the suspension of Kiwi superstar Sonny Bill Williams.

"Sonny Bill's unjust send-off for what was nothing but a good, solid tackle has affected us in more ways than one. Not only did we end up with a draw against the faggoty Wizards, it's estimated that we lose about 70% of the hot women in our crowd when Sonny doesn't play." Schrader remarked.

Grasshoppers CEO skeepe claims that this is a new beginning for the club, after falling on hard times in recent seasons.

"We are committed to ensuring that the Grasshoppers have a future in the GH premiership, and hope that people will stop referring to us as the Asshoppers."

In unrelated news, it has been reported that CEO skeepe will be sent on a public relations course as soon as possible.

Grasshoppers plundered by Pirates
Image

The Gilmore Grasshoppers have been embarrassed 44-14 in their round 2 clash with the Peakhurst Pirates. The Grasshoppers were never in the match, trailing 48-12 at half time before rallying in the second half.

Coach David Schrader will no doubt be expecting a far better performance from his team in round 3.

"I'll be pounding their arses in training harder than I've ever pounded them before. They'll be sore and sorry. We won't see another performance this bad all year," the outspoken Schrader raged.

Peakhurst Pirates 44 (Thurston 2, White 2, Robertson, Vagana, Tahu tries; Webb, Cayless, Thorn forward tries; Thurston playmaker try; Cayless involvement try; Thurston 6/6 goals; De Gois, Thorn, Withers forward tries conceded; Robertson MIA penalty) def. Gilmore Grasshoppers 14 (Campbell, Jennings tries; Creagh forward try; Creagh involvement try; Covell 2/3 goals; Hilder forward try conceded)
