Dene Halatu has been replaced before the 2006 season has even begun. Appo would not disclose information regarding the sacking of the player but announced a new player had been signed. "We are very proud to announce that Sydney Roosters forward, Ashley Harrison has been recruited to the squad." Halatu was not available for comment.

Cullen has announed the team for their top of the table Round 3 clash with the Squirrel Grippers.

Radical changes have been made at the Deakin Club with new coach Paul Cullen sacking and signing players at will.
Benji Marshall has been replaced by a much cheaper Jason Smith.
Matt King has been replaced by Matt Sing with Cullen stating that he loves poetry, especially literatiure that rhymes.
Billy Slater has been replaced by Anthony Minichello.
