Fans flock back as speculation surrounds the prodigal son returning to the GH Premiership

Keen and ready to go - Fui fans waiting for confirmation. Source - Fui's Images
Justin Credible - The Daily Bugle. Monday 22nd February 2016

It has been almost 4 years in waiting, but rumors have been circulating of late about a possible return to the Premiership for Coach Fui and his team.
Last seen in 2013, Fui would be remembered for famously giving up mid-competition and releasing all of his players as free agents.

"People might have thought of it as giving up, but that wasn't the case." Fui explained in today's press conference.

"Truth be told, I simply could not continue in the competition. I was working for a company that only had one computer with internet access. Every lunch break would consist of people fighting for this one computer, and I couldn't maintain my team properly. I didn't have internet access at my house (The Bradchelor Pad) at the time either. Eventually I said enough was enough and was forced to withdraw. However things have changed now. I realised how bad that company was and left in 2014, and I finally have an internet connection at the house."

However, with 1 week to go until Draft Day, fans of Fui may have to wait a little longer for confirmation as there seems to be an issue with registering.

"I tried to register my team, but as I submitted my team name, I was advised that the competition was closed and could not proceed further. I have spoken to the officials and I'm currently waiting for a response. In the meantime, I urge the fan(s) of the club to be patient as we get to the bottom of this issue" Brad confirmed.

Fingers crossed this matter resolves itself quickly, and this little team that could will once again shake up the establishment.

Rejoice as Fui makes him Premiership comeback

Image
Relief at last - Dave McGillycutty can finally remove his beard

For Dave McGillicutty, confirmation that Fui was re-joining the Premiership was a blessing 3 years in the waiting. When Fui left the competition, Dave made a decision not to shave until he returned. When the Daily Bugle asked Dave why he did this, he admitted that he didn't expect the absence to be long.

"I thought maybe he would take the rest of the season off, so I thought this would be a funny way to annoy the wife. She use to complain about how scratchy my stubble use to be. At first it was funny, but Fui never came back. Before I knew it, the stubble became a beard and the problems started escalating. My wife left 2 years ago because she lost her watch in the beard once. I'm hoping now I can win her back."

To help McGillycutty win back his wife, Fui has arranged for a romantic dinner for 2 at a local Rashay's franchise, and has arranged Leo Sayer to perform a special rendition of You make me feel like Dancing. Fingers crossed Leo can reignite the spark in this marriage.

Meanwhile, Fui has confirmed his team will be named the Shermer Hellfish. Details of their jersey to follow, but we can confirm exclusively the team will be playing out of John Hughes Memorial Stadium.

Guys, unfortunately I might pull out of the premiership this year. I had a break in recently and my laptop and iPad have been swiped. They won't be replaced in time and it'd be a bit of mucking around to draft another way. Spewing

Sorry to hear about that Sid, I hope thiings are ok mate :)

We need 8 or 10 to draft, having 9 last year ruined things to an extent. Id rather go with 8 it make things so much better depth wise, but that will mean someone else needs to step down, Im happy to go if someone wants to take over running things.

I have PMd Sid with a few suggestions who to ask to come up from Div 2, we need to have this sorted ASAP.

Ok I've decided we will just go with 9 teams if Sid can't draft, then we all get a bye week every two months.

Once you arrive on Tuesday night post up you're here in the banter page then I will start the draft, we will have around 5 minutes until it starts.

To draft a player you can type in a players name or select one of the positions like fullback and a list of players will appear in a dropbox to select from, the list will be the top 6 or 7 players available at the time.

See you all then.

I was playing around with the site last night and drafted Toots Jnr. I panicked and delisted him straight after.

Is that normal? Or does it default back to an empty squad before the draft?

The other reason was that I have a volleyball game tonight, was going to cancel it to do the draft, but I don't think I should now that I don't have my laptop and since I had such a bad experience last draft.

What I can do though is draft for the first 5ish rounds on my phone before my game starts then pick up the dregs at the end. I can be the Gold Coast/Wests/Knights of 2016

I had it in my mind that the draft was later in the night, but if it's 7:30qld time I should be able to complete all rounds on my phone before my volleyball. Sweet!
