Could it be a repeat of last years top 2? :o

Looking like I might miss out on the Minor Premiership for the first time though. :(

doobyntus wrote:Well that's it for Old School Raiders. Late drafting by the coach meant they really were just making up the numbers with only 2 wins and a hard fought draw against GH. Coach has decided to do a Ricky Stuart and do a clean out for next years relegation.

I will be releasing 8 players capable of scoring a couple of points tomorrow night. One for each team still in this comp if they need to bolster their stocks for the finals.

Danny Buderus
Alex Glenn
Chris Houston
Krisnan Inu
Reni Maitua
Reece Robinson
Ben Te'o
Anthony Milford
Ah that explains the releases I saw last week :)

The anti tampering deadline will kick in at 6pm today, I emailed nrlceo yesterday afternoon to find out about it.

Also the scores GCR put up earlier in the week weren't updated, the Manly players win point hadn't been added, they have been added now but the scores still haven't been adjusted, hopefully that happens today when the round changes over.

GCR Round 21

The fullback curse continues as GI Joe remains sidelined and may not be back until later weeks of the Semis.
GCR head into the game against old shoe full of confidence knowing a semi final berth is just about guaranteed.

GCR sit 4 points clear of their nearest rival but also sit 3 points behind 3rd place and will rely on Injury dropping their final 2 games for any chance of moving up the ladder.
Losing GI has hampered their season losing games that GCR were expected to win.

Yeah that's true, I might have to throw next weeks game and hope you win by 200 so I finish 2nd

Maloney and co have hammered me already this week so it looks like back to back losses unless Manly put 60+ on Parra tonight, I need Stewart, DCE and Taufua to rack up big numbers, I have had my 3 forwards all get a DWH last night which was a good start, but its all coming down to my Manly boys, I don't like relying on my captain to win me games.

What a great comeback by the boys after being down 84-41 Friday night, thankfully my Manly boys had good games on Sat night and JT played one of his best games this year, even with Farah and Bobby Blair injured yesterday I have a 13 pt lead with Reynolds and Rein to play against Merrin tonight.
I'd say this is game of the year so far, two good teams who have both played really well, it would be tough being on the losing end of this one, it would be like getting news wanker Furner gets a 5 year extension or having reserve grade scrubs like McCrone and Buttirss as your 7 and 9 - ah wait

I had to get one win out of the 3 times we have played this year, maybe we will play again in the Prelim Final or GF :)

Draw Round 22 - Final Regular Season Games

Old School Raiders vs NQ All Stars - The WACA
Campbell Colts vs Tuggeranong Terror - The Graveyard

With the top 2 teams NQ All Stars and Campbell Colts :thumbsup secure this week and a bye in week 1 of the finals, these games have no bearing on the the final round of the comp, unless the mighty Terror go to town on the Colts and wipe out their differential, its been a great finish to the season for the Terror they have been in some good form, but will likely fall short of a finals berth.

The All Stars have this week wrapped up the Minor Premiership with come from behind win against GHIB.

Victorious Secret vs Tuggeranong Hills Hoists - Albert Fricken's McChicken Licken Pork Park

The only sure thing in the final round is the Hills Hoist will win this game and win well, which means they will finish on 22 pts, but they will need the GCR's to defeat the Silverbacks next week to secure the 6th and final spot in the finals, so I gather skeepe is cheering on the GCR's this weekend.

GH Injury Brigade vs Sir McSquid's Squad - Greenville

Both these teams are finals bound, but positions are up for grabs, GHIB are on a 4 game losing streak and need a win before next weeks finals start, Sir McSquid's Squad have fought hard all year to sit in 5th and deserve to play finals footy, even with the coach missing the draft and having a fellow coaches son draft for him  with a +64 differential McSquid's Squad will finish 5th or 6th after next week. If GHIB win they secure 3rd place, if they lose and GCR's win those teams swap positions.

Gold Coast Raiders vs Stirling Silverbacks - Coomera Sports Park

Game of the round at Coomera Park on the Goldy this weekend, wow these two teams have a history in finals footy- 2011 GF Silverbacks got the win and I'm sure the Silverbacks knocked out the GCR's in week 1 of the finals in 2012, always a lot of banter between the coaches as well :cmon

The equation is simple this week for the Silverbacks - win you're in - lose you're out, for the GCR's they secured a finals position last week, this week is all about doing "the little things" right before next weeks finals start, they will finish in 3rd or 4th position, 3rd if GHIB lose and they beat the Silverbacks.

The biggest question will be - will Benji turn and play or will he decide to go to Union early and leave the Silverbacks in the LURCH :P

The GCR's have been hit by injuries in the last few months, losing star FB Greg Inglis who could return in week 1 or 2 of the finals, and they also lost about 10 wingers, and the latest star to have a stint on the sideline is "lucky" John Sutton, out for 2-4 weeks with an ankle injury, Sutton has played and won all 3 GH Premierships GF's and won them all. The pressure will now fall on young half Adam Reynolds and rising star backrower Boyd Cordner.

Minor Premiers - Round 22 team

Image

The NQ All Stars go into the final round of the regular season with the Minor Premiership wrapped up and no pressure against Old School Raiders. All we are looking at this round is trying to everyone through without injury and then we can pack our bags for a weeks vacation in Hawaii before we play the Campbell Colts in week 2 of the Finals.

We lost Robbie Farah and Bobby Blair to injury last week so they are out of the team this week, Aaron Woods season is over after scans confirmed he needed knee surgery, luckily we have a few rosters available so in the coming weeks we expect to sign another forward or two as depth for our Finals run.

Roosters just posted on twitter, Boyd Cordner has undergone surgery on his ankle today, he will be out for 6-10 weeks :nooo

Injuries have been ordinary this weekend, GCRs can't take a trick at all, losing Cordner right now is below the belt plus Sutton last week. Hopefully GI returns next week.

Yeah its cruel at time that's for sure, injuries/suspensions seem to hit hard just after the anti-tampering deadline every year, it happened to me in the Big Mal Legends last year and I bombed out in straight sets in the finals.
