My favorite forum member is 100%Green. Why? Because anyone who can convince my wife who runs two watch shops and doesnt realy like the Raiders to buy me a limited edition centenary of league Raiders watch is alright in my books.

It's hard god-damn work being a Raiders supporter!

Legends of League Update after Round 2

By Gill Phould

Yes I’m back for another season and the Legends of LeagueCompetitions are underway with the first two rounds providing some extremelyclose games. There is no doubt that ‘themob’ has learned from their mistakes in 2011 and in 2012 the Gurus in each competitionare being hunted by both returning coaches and rookies alike!

All competitions this year will be extremely competitivewith a place in the prestigious 2013 Champions League the obvious incentive.

It’s only early days but let’s see who looks the goods afterthe first two rounds of NRLCEO.

The Wally LewisCompetition sees three teams remain undefeated. 2011 champions, the Gurus are one of thoseteams with Late Night Blackouts and Steel Ballers also maintaining theirpositive start to the season. The latterin particular look to be a very strong outfit after they have amassed 140points in attack over the opening two weeks!

The Allan LangerCompetition is arguably one of the strongest with many well performingcoaches from 2011 joining this competition.Guru team the Dentites once again have their work cut out for them in2012. Team Albert and the Gold CoastRaiders are undefeated so far with the Dentites lamenting early in 7thplace. The Wallalong Emus are thesurprise packets, winless after two rounds.

The Peter Sterling Competition2011 champions, guru Team Enormous are setting the pace undefeated so far. Also in the top bracket are Thatman andRanganuts. Team Enormous have scored animpressive 139 points so far this season and will be hard to beat.

The Artie BeetsonCompetition sees Guru team the Last Dregs floundering down in 7thposition and off the pace against some top notch teams. Central Coast Eels are on fire and havescored a whopping 155 points so far. They remain undefeated with Slapheads and Top of the Pops. The Dregs look to be struggling in this compand will struggle to retain their 2011 title.

The Mal MeningaCompetition sees some familiar names featuring at the top, none of whichare the defending champion and guru, Dominant Tackle. They sit in the lowly 8th positionbehind the likes of big guns, NQ Raiders and Portugallion. Sunshine Coast Smashers round out theundefeated teams. Gosford RLC is theunlucky team in this comp, amassing 122 points for two losses. They amazingly sit in 9th positionand in any other competition they would be undefeated!

The Clive ChurchillCompetition is going to be tight all season with only 7 teams competing andat the moment, the Burdekin Barflies are the only undefeated team. Every other team has tasted success thisseason with last year’s gurus, the Wendalls sitting in 3rd just infront of 2011 champions Smash Em.

Two teams remain undefeated in the Bob Fulton Competition.Dropz Boyz and Men of Steel have dominated early with the guru Jehovahteam struggling to score points in 6th place. This seems to be a very even competitionthough with most teams managing to score around 50 points each round.

The Reg GasnierCompetition saw the biggest disappointment in 2011 with highly regarded guru;the Rock Hudson’s failing to make an impact all season. Nothing seems to have changed in 2012, withthe Hudson’s down in familiar territory in 7th position. Whalan Tornadoes, Wonka’s Chocolate Factoryand Metro City are all undefeated. TheTornadoes won’t last in that position for too long though, after scoring just70 points in two rounds. The obviousfavourite is the Chocolate Factory who have scored an impressive 150 points sofar this season. The Hudsons are notthat far off the pace but will need the start ascending the ladder to prove thecritics wrong.

The Johnny RaperCompetition sees the most useless guru coach on the planet continue todisappoint. The Bessies were patheticlast season and 2012 looks to be more of the same, as they sit in 7thposition and incapable of scoring points. Sydney Cybermen and Obelix and Co.are the two undefeated teams with the former racking up an average of 75 pointsper game.

The Graeme LanglandsCompetition sees last year’s champion and guru the Bandits sitting in 5thposition and ready to pounce. Despitethe Redwing Conquistadors, Cougars and Drunken Slurries being undefeated, theearly signs show that any of the current top 7 teams can score big points andare therefore capable of winning on their day.All of these teams are scoring more than 50 points a game at this stagewhich will make for an exciting season!

The Ruben WikiCompetition sees the familiar Fantasy Kings leading the way after scoring119 points in two games. The Beagles,Men of Steel and Saints are also undefeated while last year’s champion and guruthe Dribblers are sitting down in 6th position. They won’t be too concerned though afterscoring big points in both weeks so far.

The Andrew JohnsCompetition sees Cook’s Crushers and Shamrocks wit atop the tableundefeated after two rounds. Guru teamthe Ferrets are not far away in 4th place but will be concerned withtheir scoring ability. Brisbane Banditshave already shown that they are capable of scoring points and are will likelyclimb up the ladder in the coming weeks.

Although it is early days, the top teams are the ones thatare scoring between 50 and 70 points.Teams that are scoring more than that are simply outstanding and theirearly favouritism cannot be denied. Thenext Legends of League Update will be after round 5 when I will have a muchclearer idea of who are the contenders and who are the pretenders.

Good luck to all over the coming weeks and may the Gurus ineach competition have many a win!!

My team is spluttering this week, it really sucks not having Parker and goal kicker, 23 all against team 10, I still have Slater, Cronk and Josh Morris to play, they better fire up and get me home, I'm not very confident though.

The spluttering team has just decided to fired up thanks to Cronk and Slater doubles and a few try assists between them plus a Ryan Hoffman try, NQ Raider should remain undefeated in the Big Mal Comp.

Smash em struggling in the LOL comp too, he has been easy meat in the CL.

Nice game this week Raidersrawesome, you have a similar team to my CL team with Merritt, Campo and Johnson in the backline. Bit annoying having Cronk on the bench but our match showed how important a goal kicker can be.

CL is proving a struggle, couple of close loses from tactical errors and Farah not getting his DF in R1 and going the Eels kicker was never wise. Started with Burt, got screwed in R2 and then went to Sandow and lost half the points from Johnson sitting on the bench. Got Gidley now so that should help things, probably not this week but the next week should be a goodie.

Thanks for putting that up Aussie. Wow Dominant Tackle is struggling in the Champions League as well  He isn't very Dominant in our Big Comp this year, currently 9th.

What finals system are you guys using this year, How did the draft go for yourself and Ferrett, did you do ok, get good teams considering the standard of competition you are in.

That was a great matchup Raidersrawesome! You were unlucky to lose scoring 75+ points. You should have a couple more chances to beat me before we meet in an All-GH Grand Final. ;)

Round 7 draw

Injury Brigade vs Team Albert ALIB Dome
Brown RLFC vs Gold Coast Raiders Redfern Oval

Both the Raiders boys suffered a loss this week. Injury was very unlucky to lose as he looked to have the game won going into Monday night.

GCR would like to personally thank the Penrith boys , with 3 in the team I was confident of running down Chatswood but true to form they got zilch , zip , nothin.

yeah 75 would have won me any other game. I thought I was a chance when I heard Stewart was out.

It would be a pleasure beating you in the GF :D

Mal Meninga Comp

Results Round 6

Sunshine Coast Smashers 41 - NQ Raiders 47
Apollos Creed 30 - Oakland Athletics 67
Mexican Churros 61 - Threepete 48
Dominant Tackle 44 - Gosford Goblins 50
The Applemen 65 - Portugallion 63

Ladder

1. NQ Raiders............................12.........95
2. Portugallion.............................10.........75
3. Gosford Goblins........................6..........27
4. Sunshine Coast Smashers.........6..........17
5. The Applemen..........................6...........3
---------------------------------------------------------
6. Oakland Athletics.....................6..........-11
7. Apollos Creed........................6........-75
8. Mexican Churros......................4.........-59
9. Threepete................................2.........-32
10. Dominant Tackle(guru)............2..........-40

Draw Round 7

Gosford Goblins vs Portugallion - Bluetongue Stadium
NQ Raiders vs Dominant Tackle - Millennium Stadium
Oakland Athletics vs The Applemen - Pratten Park
Mexican Churros vs Apollos Creed - Tijuana
Threepete vs Sunshine Coast Smashers - Andre's Swanky New Loft

The NQ Raiders remain undefeated in the Big Mal Comp, and now take the outright lead after Portugallion got run down. I was in trouble going into Sundays games but you know who got me back in the game :D Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk, a Kevin Kingston WH as captain sealed the deal last night.

Apollos Creed had a bad week and has slipped out of the top 5 on differential.

NQ Raiders have a GF rematch this week with Dominant Tackle who are dead **** last  I'm still worried though.
